A question about space age genetics

terry94705

I have a space ager --Solar Fire-- that bloomed this week without horns, flounces, etc. I often hear people say that first year blooms are deficient - too short, smaller bloomer, etc. But am I correct to think that if a space ager doesn't have horns, hooks or flounces this year, it never will? It seems to me that this is a genetics issue, rather than a growth /culture issue.

I'm thinking that if I want a real space ager version of Solar Fire, I need to get another rhizome. Is this true?

Thanks,

Terry
