Hydrangea macrophylla 'Ayesha'

I just bought one of these at a local nursery as it was on clearance, and I love the shape of the flowers and it said its good in shady areas which is what I needed. Anyway, I didn't really know anything about it, so I started doing some research on the Internet, and a few websites I found describe it as "delicate" and "requiring some shelter" in colder climates.

Now I'm nervous. I had one hydrangea die on me during this last winter as it was a harsh one. I'm concerned about this one surviving the winter.

I planted it between two rather large pitch pine trees and there is a shed about 3 feet behind it. The area that will have the most exposure faces West. Does anyone have and Ayesha? If so, do you do anything to protect it during the winter (assuming you live in a cold climate)? If so, what?

Thank you for any responses!
