Has anyone gotten their rhizomes? How do they look? I went to Landfair's website and it said 'Website closed', any idea what happened?

I'm new to gardening & love iris.Trying to start an iris bed. I spent over 30$ there during their 1/2 sale.Thought I was getting a great deal on named iris. Was told they will be shipped in July.Let's hope they do!Why would their website be closed? That can't be a good sign.Anyone know of another good iris site ,just in case this one bombs?I'm sorta on a budget.

I ordered mine on May 31st from Landfair and they told me last week they'd be shipping them either June 25th or 26th. I think their website is closed because they aren't going to be shipping any more until fall.

Well I finally got an email from Landfair, they told me because of the bad weather they have been having they could not ship out my order. Although my order was confirmed on June 4. Now the say they will be returning my money to me shortely.

Oh no! I haven't heard from them this week, did you email them first? I can vouch for the insane weather, Texas has been inundated with water like we've never seen. Still sad that the irises aren't going to make it out though :(.

I ordered from them also. I had been to there open house several years ago. I am 30 miles from them - and i can assure you that the weather has been quite strange. They probably can't even get in the gardens to dig becasue we have had so much rain.

I live in West Central Texas and Landfair is in NE Texas; not being near their location I know not what their situation is but there has been flooding over much of Texas this week. Our small town is bordered by a river on the west and a creek on the east. The creek flooded after 6 - 8 inches of rain Monday on the watershed. It has rained all week in our area with rain in our forecast through the 4th of July; our rain gauge appears to have overflowed from last night's rains.

While reading this I learned the county west of Fort Worth, TX began to flood yesterday evening so I must check on my friend who lives there. This week Marble Falls, Texas had 18 1/2 inches in a 24 hr period; 2005-2006 we had wild fires over most of the state, rain is much better although those who are being flooded out may not agree!

I e-mailed them.Due to the weather they are unable to fill orders. My check is in the mail.Any other good iris sites to order from?

Springhill nursery is a really good place to order.I have lots of iris that I bought from them and most are rebloomers.They will also replace whatever dies as long as you garden.I have browns,pinks,blues,yellows,purple,maroon,peach,white and bicolors.I have tons and I have shared with all my neighbors.I am new here and was wondering how do I go about trading iris for ones I don't have.LOL if I knew how to put pics on here I have some nice pics of my iris this year.They put on a lovely show!

WELL, It's too bad about all that bad weather in texas, as i was so looking forward to getting those iris and wow !!, what a great price. i'm not use to ordering from mail order so I was a bit nervous when I seen the site was shut down, but maybe there will be good deals next year..

I am so sorry to hear some of ya'll haven't gotten your orders. My order arrived from them today - wonderful product.
Personally for those who are seeking another place to buy - it your local to Texas - wait until the Iris and DayLily sale at the Botanical Garden in FTW. It will be Sept 23 this year - there will be tons of suppliers there and GREAT rock bottom prices. I usually only buy there - but couldn't resist the 50% off from Landfair.
Landfair is located in Powderly Texas, in Lamar County (outside of Paris) the area has received TONS of rain statewide - but especially up there.
The website was closed because they only take orders for a certain period of time...the date the website was going to close for the season was listed when I place my order May 28th.

I received my order on the 27th. Even received a small refund on the shipping. I hate to hear that their fields are under water. I spoke to both the husband and wife on the phone and they were so nice. The rhizomes were in excellent condition and of really nice size.

I received my refund check from them in yesterdays mail. Enclosed with it was a note saying becasue of weather conditions they had no choice but to refund.

I received my order from them today, quite nice looking rhizomes. They did say that they are now flooded so they weren't able to fill all the orders that were made. I am sure this rainfall has been affecting many nurseries negatively. Most of these places are not large and one bad season could easily put them under.

I have bought from several iris gardens online and have had good luck with all of them. Denise at Snowpeak Iris Garden (Oregon) is a great gal, her prices are reasonable and she hasn't made any errors with my orders. Also I have ordered from Mid American Garden (Oregon) and Napa Country Iris Garden (California) as well as Schreiner's Iris Garden (Oregon). They are a bit more pricey but the rhizomes are super and no boo-boo's from them either. Paul at Mid American Garden has also been very helpful with questions I had...seems to be a very nice fellow and very patient with my questions. Also I have ordered in the past from Greenhorn Valley Iris (Colorado)as well as Iris Greens (California) with no problems.
