"Progress". Years ago, our area was the same. This development was built in the late 60's on the outskirts of town and even though it basically still is, the landscape is changing all the time. There was nothing but fields and forest around here years ago. Now there's one development further out than us and more going up here and there all over the place. In the process more land was taken on top of the land used to expand roads and highways. It's not so bad where we've lost some of our typical nature sounds like our robins, owls, cardinals, cicadas and so on, but the feel is different. They tore down an old factory by the river 8 or so years ago that was supposed to remain as a park area where we used to see plenty of ducks, gulls and geese but it didn't take long for them to commercialize it with a restaurant, some shops, the obligatory CVS and leave us not forget the primo riverfront townhouses and condos. What I can't get over are the bloody drugstores. I grew up in a town that had a Rexall downtown on the corner. (Must be getting old. Spell check told me Rexall is spelled wrong.) Now, it's like some huge pharmacy giant just walks through the country, squats, and drops a CVS or Walgreen's here, there or wherever. The other thing that gets me about that is, whenever one builds the other is sure to build somewhere nearby.

I try not to use the "I'm busy" to often. I think it makes my friends feel like they aren't important. I tend to say a certain week or month, lets catch up or do someones birthday. Lately I have felt overwhelmed and I hate it. It's graduation & party crunch time, scholarship assisting, school activities have simmered down thank goodness, but the farming has stepped up X5. Oh and we are adding a whole new wing to our house. DH is doing most of the work between farming and I'm the designer. HA, sounds glamorous but it seriously isn't! Subbing at school has been few and the caller must be frustrated at my refusal to work. I am blessed to be able to enjoy the fruits of our labor but its been a long haul, we don't know what weekend fun is. My friends have been so good, they will offer their hands to help me. You bet I'm using them at DD's graduation open house! that's what friends are for. ~~I agree we are all busy. But if my friends NEED me I'll try to be there for them someway, like they are for me.

I had my mom & MIL for most of May & did some traveling with mom. They left & we went camping at Rocky Mtn National Park for 6 days ... now trying to get ready for our neighborhood garage sale on Friday night & Saturday. I swore I would never do this again (and it has been about 5 years) but I just have too much stuff so cleaned the garage and now hauling stuff out to sell. I did do a little fabric shopping with camping friends in Estes Park, CO. I pulled out a UFO (queen size) that I started handquilting 10+ years ago & sandwiched the Disappearing 16patch. Son's GF LOVED her birthday quilt I left here for her while we were camping. (he said she jumped off the sofa & was beaming!) That's the kind of reviews you like to get! She did leave a lovely thank you card. I need to get started on a baby quilt for July & decide on a pattern for a bunch of Oriental fabrics I have been collecting. I'm thinking of a fan type pattern ... just not sure yet. Still lots of UFOs to get going on also. The weather is FINALLY starting to get nice (even though it rained/snowed/sleeted on us while camping!) so the flowerbeds are calling me to pull weeds - that will wait until next week. Back to work now on the garage! Sue

I'm having very similar problems, although my fridge is not a Bosch. The original audio links are no longer working, so I can't compare. The high-pitched, whining / whistling noise really bothers me, but I think I've also become a bit sensitive to the frequency. I would love to hear your objective opinion on the sounds.
