Doing a google search on remontant hydrangeas, brought me to this thread. I own 'Wedding Gown' & 'Pistachio' or 'Glam Rock' as its known across the pond. Both hydrangeas do not get huge figure about 3' X 3'. 'Wedding Gown' I have noticed, in our zone 7 winters w/o protection dies almost to the ground and emerges with new growth in spring. The plant blooms on new wood. I have not encountered 'die to the ground' with 'Pistachio'. Both are well behaved in a Northern exposure and a Western exposure in the shadow of a magnolia.

That is the name of a PW remontant series. Moonlight is supposed to be hardy to 5a: http://www.provenwinners.com/plants/hydrangea/lets-dance-moonlight-bigleaf-hydrangea-hydrangea-macrophylla Because one of them is hardy, it is likely others in the series will be but always check! Of course, the way that they claim hardiness means all new growth in Spring will originate from the base and theeeen it will bloom. I expect the stems from previous years will not make it unless you protect them.

My Blushing Bride was blue last season & suits me just fine!!! Had her in large container for a while before setting her in a part-shade site in Sept. I protected her with a cage and dropped a burlap in side the cage since she has not had much time in the ground. Today she has tons of flower buds! Since 2 ES were were move to a better sun exposure site in mid-Apr, both are sporting flower buds better than 2nd season. F&E is growing tightly with stronger canes but no signs of flower buds yet. I do feel they all need some form of Winter protection (except for the H paniculatas) in my piece of soil - simply because I'm situated at the smack bottom of a longish, W facing cul-de-sac with both legs acting as funnels for the wicked winds & snow that wraps around to the back & cause quite a bit of havoc there. The trees are all bare with only 1 or 2 old Pines ... not enough to slow down those Alberta Clippers, Polar Expresses & Freight trains that come through our way each Winter without fail. So I pay for my small collection!!! LOL I might wait to see if 'Let's Dance' shows up here ... hardier & 'new&old' bloomers too huh?! - I'll sink pots of shade annuals in the 3 spots I have cleared, in the mean time. I'm still waiting to find Blue Billow in town ... no such luck! Annabelle & another OH (dwarf) might just be less pain & they're in abundance here! YG - I'm such a nut, so, even with this ... Thanks madeyna. I went to the place I've gotten my mulch from and they did have potting soil w/o fertilizer. It was in bags but that was fine for me. I potted up all my rooted cuttings yesterday. I had good roots on most of them - 7 out of 11. I put three back under plastic to see if I could get better roots on them. I found that the roots seemed to grow better in my terracotta pots rather than the styrofoam hot cups I used. My unidentified lacecap did better than the unidentified mophead. My one cutting of my new Woodlander serrata did great - put out a huge # of roots in a short period of time. Now I'm wondering if I should leave the pots outside until they go dormant. I've had them in the house last night because there was a threat of frost. And then what to do - put them in the garage, in the ground, or against the foundation covered? Does anyone have any recommendations?
