Nantucket 's Tiny New Plants.....What next?

yellowgirl

I finally broke down and ordered some long sought after cultivars (all macs) and the only place I could find them was at Nantucket Hydrangea (can't beat their selection) who will send me tiny 2" plants. Ugh...but I couldn't help myself.

I've never started them from that small of a size before and need some expert advice on how to get them to be nice full plants in the shortest amount of time. (no patience here!)

My plan was to pot them up and keep them in the small humid atrium that I have in the center of my house (4 walls, open screened roof, and eastern sun exposure) which will protect them from the wind, harsh sun, freezes and critters until they are large enough to face the backyard. Then what? Should I keep trimming the tiny plants back to promote new stems? How long before I see a bloom or two?

Any advice welcome and appreciated. Thanks.....yg
