Shrinking Hostas??

JohnNC7B

This year I've lost several hostas to an incredible shrinking problem. Several plants are now completely gone, while a couple are simply smaller than when they were planted, maybe as much as two years before. The plants in the same bed, right beside these guys, are all doing well. The shrinking plants all have smaller leaves even if they have an increase in the number of eyes, and then in time these leaves begin to disappear. Granted, that some of the plants are on the list of potentially HVX plants, but I've never read of a plant just kind of fading away due to HVX,

Sagae and Orange Marmalade were dug up while a little green still showed, roots washed of, and replanted in a potting mix in pots. They seem to be making a comeback. But two still in the ground: Patriot is shrinking, and Gold Standard has many, but very small leaves.

Maybe the isolation pot is the answer for nursing these guys back to heath. I'm afraid that 5 others are gone forever though.

Any suggestions?

John
