That would depend on a place where you are planning to put your container(s). Enziandom is a show-off hydrangea and deserves a such spot where it always be a conversational piece. In ground it grow rather wider than tall, but in container may behave differently. BTW, it has a lacecap sister-version, Nachtigale (Nightingale). All Domotoi I ever saw was very pale washed denim blue. Not a my cup of tea, but again, all depend of where you want to place it. Claudie is a very interesting hydrangea, but beside the bloom time it has nothing interesting to show after. The same apply to the Blue Bird, though since it is a serrata and seems to be most hardy of all common varieties, you may even could try it in a ground, not a container. I would, especialy for 9.99 :-) TD has those transitional color change phases as you know that could be worth to offset additional troubles you'll have by growing it in a container. I'd expect it to stay in 3x3' range (4x4' in a ground). One more thing to consider, color. In container you could easily keep soil either alcaline or acidic thus have any color you wish to, so chose the cultivar(s) of the appropriate 'natural' color you want to see. For the best red I'd chose Red Cardinal, for the best blue- Enziandom.

I know from personal experience that this type of place appeals to horse owners on a budget. Usually they don't care so much about the interior of the house so long as it is sound, they are much more concerned whether there is water and electric to the outbuilding, if the place can be fenced or if it is fenced, if the fence is sturdy, grazing areas, a place to ride... It might be worth you while to advertise it as a horse place if horses are allowed and the questions here can be answered. This would be in addition to other advertising you may do to the more generic "back to the land" type folks. There is a growing market in many places for homes with land such as yours. That close to town can also be a selling point," live in the country, even if you work in the city". best wishes

Looks like they are suffering from transplant shock. Very common on newly planted shrubs and expected when you plant new ones in the middle of the summer. If they get too much sunlight, the leaves in direct contact with the sun will turn all yellow, including the leaf veins. So, these guys look like went from a comfortable shady spot at Lowes to a more sunny and hot spot in your garden. Going forward, I suggest you transition them slowly into sunny areas: say, buy them in the summer, keep them in bright shade until summer temps have come down and plant them in the Fall. When the big leaves on these guys started to loose moisture faster than the roots could absorb water, the leaves wilted. As this condition got more intense by not being used to the hot outside, the leaves dried out from the edges inwards and some sections now look brown. The wilted leaves should normally recover on their own if you keep the soil moist. Usually they recover either by nighttime or by the next morning. If they have not recovered then test the soil to see if it needs water. But keep a close eye on the soil moisture levels in the middle of the summer and water as often as needed. Do not forget that pots get hot when hit by either morning or afternoon summer sun. Completely dried out leaves can be cut off but I would leave the partially browned out ones. If it bugs you, you can squish the brown out parts so they are not so obvious. Dried out leaves will not recover but the shrub sometimes generates new ones either now, in the Fall or as late as Spring 2016. Any location where they get morning sun until 11am or so (approximately) is probably ok. Locations that get some sun in the afternoon might work too but you have to "test" them to see and mid-July was probably a jolt to them. In the northern states, they can get full sun but, I still would not "introduce to the outside" in the middle of the summer. :o) I had one hydrangea that lost all leaves due to watering issue (not potted but planted in the ground). This happened near the end of the growing season. I maintained the soil moist and well mulched. It looked worse than yours. While it did not produce new leaves that season, the roots were fine and made it leaf out in the Spring like nothing had happened. Enjoy, the Mini Penny Hydrangeas. I almost got some myself at another store.

Didn't know Mathlida Gutges is same as LA Dreaming! Great I can take that one of the list. I've almost picked it up 2-3 times. We moved about 70 hydrangea when we moved here from another WA area. They divide and can be moved easily in tubs. There are a lot of blue hydrangeas in acid soil that can be shifted to purple with the right amount of dolomite lime addition. The more color pigment in the blue the deeper the purple potential. Go too far and these can go pink or red. Three favorite examples follow. Hydrangea macrophylla 'Enziandom' is highly pigmented (as os 'Rhythmic Blue'). It's a stunner mophead in any color. Hydrangea macrophylla 'Eisvogel' is a beautiful blue lacecap in the Teller Swiss series that makes a nice purple. Hydrangea macrophylla 'Blaumeise' ('Teller Blue') is a larger petal lacecap with interesting past prime after colors. It goes pink easily with lime. But if you've careful at adjustment a purple is possible. Hydrangea macrophylla 'Leuchtfeuer' (translated "Firelight") is an old timer that likes to be a red. However, It's easy to take it towards a purple or it can be pushed to a blue. It will flower less densely in the shade as in the photo below, but can be covered with flowers with more sun. Uneven pH range in a 8' wide bush gave this. The florets centers are white at first and color fills in as it matures. Below is an unlabeled hydrangea that I couldn't resist getting. It had four 8+" mopheads on a 12" tall plant in a one gallon pot! There was nice pigmentation with a blue and pink flower each. Looking at the petal tips, purple potential is obviously there. I need to grow it in the yard to a larger size to see it's full potential. I will grow it with uneven pH distribution to try to get the multicolor effect again. I prefer unknowing the plant name. But this one had such large full florets, nice pigment density and a pearl like sheen to the petal base color. I have and have seen a lot of hydrangeas but not this one before. '(Blue) Enchantress' is a newer variety with larger than average mopheads and nice dark stems (we have a big one). The flower heads on the unknown are larger and fuller and more impressive than the 'Hamburg', 'Penny Mac'*, and some other larger flowered mopheads such as the 'Merrit's ____' series I've seen locally and at home. Flower size is more in the 'Gerda Steiniger' class size. There are larger cluster heads out there. *'Penny Mac', 'Nikko Blue' and 'nigra' compound mopheads can get as large or larger, when grown with an abundance of fertilizer and moisture. This results from side branch minimops adding into the cluster making them more dense panicle shaped than round.
