Limelight Hydrangea hedge Spacing
Comments (4)I planted 75 Limelights last year and the spacing was exactly 4' from center to center. this year, their edges are already overlapping. I expect that by next year, the outermost 30% of branches will have knitted together. I would go with 4', no closer. 5' would be OK too for economical reasons, but 6' may be too far if you want the hedge to connect within 2-3 years. In time, though, it should still connect, since Limelight is supposed to get to 8' wide, though maybe only in the outermost branches, and not densely, uniformly intergrowing....See Moresharing some pics for those who like to look
Comments (11)thanks every one for your sweet words.Ashley doesn't have diamonds in her shoes its a reflection from the pics.I am terrible in making pics.I wish I lived next to Joan so she could teach me.She makes the best best pics.As some knows I have three puppies,Coby,Chloe and Buddy [the one we rescue from death) and they are all doing great.Actually I am so proud to say since Buddy was abused by a man and when we brought him home he was so so scared of Greg and any man that came here but we have worked with him and he is really warming up to men.I am glad he is learning NOT all men will be mean to him.Greg has taken alot of time up with him. When Greg comes home,Greg takes all three puppies out for a walk and that has really helped. I too love Chloe's little pink dress.Petmark had it marked down and so Ashley bought Chloe the dress. She doesn't mind wearing clothes.Ashley bought them matching clothes and I will post a pic of them later in their matching clothes. They are so so cute in the matching clothes. Yes sadly but trueful Ashley is grown. She will be 20 in Sept. Can yall believe 20!!!! I can still remember the day she was born.I miss her when she is goes to work, even though some days I say I can't wait till she goes to work.We have our ups and downs and I hate we do.I dread the day when she says she is ready to move out. What will I do?I know that day is coming. Thanks again....See MoreHelp me choose a white Hydrangea
Comments (5)The answer may depend on a few things like the amount of sun, width of the space and whether you'd like to block any views. I have Incrediballs, Limelights and a few Little Limes in my front yard. The Limelights are mostly toward the outside edges, including a row on the far side of my driveway between one neighbor's house and mine. I like the Limelights a lot, and I also think having them there improves the neighbors' view. Their house is on an angle that means it somewhat overlooks my driveway, but now they have Limelights to look at instead....See MoreLimelight and quickfire hedge
Comments (20)thanks luis We live near the bay on a hill 62' above sea level. I want to put in a hedge that will act as a buffer to a building that is going up between us and the bay. We face west and when it is windy, it is very strong. I have tried growing azaleas on the west side and they always die. Also, no immediate water source nearby so will have to water to get them established and then they will be on their own. New building will be 50' in length, about the length of our house , so it will be right there . I have an established limelight in my side yard which is at least 10' tall and it has been very hardy and beautiful. SOme have suggested a mixed hydrangea hedge with quickfire and limelight but I don't know quickfire and don't know how well it would withstand the winds. Wind is my biggest obstacle to overcome as well as providing a screen which will block the building in front while still allowing a view to the bay. My dream is a hedge that will be like an infinity pool. You will look over the top , block the bottom of the n ew building and still see the water....See Morefall50
