Sun vs Shade - how much time needed for both?
Comments (4)The only things growing right now are....1)some evergreen green bushes directly against the front of the house. 2)a butterfly bush right side of the house out front. I guess that would be southeast directionally, however it doesnt seem to be doing well but I'm a novice so I dont really know what "doing well" is. 3)and some sort of tree that turns bright red in the fall...it's located directly against the house's front-left side, southwest I think. That looks good to me, no brown spots or shedding leaves....See MoreHow much sun can Incrediball Hydrangea tolerate?
Comments (11)All things being equal, yes, you can try growing it in containers. The catch is that large containers get large/heavy and some garages are tight in the space department. Big containers are also a pain to move around, especially something like a half of a whiskey barrel that is full of potting soil. You may need some whiskey to move the darn thing. Ha! A solution in some cases may be to put the container in "rollers" full time. I am lazy and have no helpers when aid is needed to bring the heavy pots into the garage or the house in the Fall so, having the containers already on s-t-r-o-n-g rolling plant caddies year around is useful....See MoreHydrangeas and sun? how much is too much

So they wont get many "looks", but maybe I can figure a way to position them on the corners so that they can peek around from each end and be seen....See MoreKyushu Hydrangea.......how much sun/shade?
Comments (2)Morning... Mine receives full sun from about 10:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. It's planted in a lasagna bed (rich in organics) & has never required supplemental water after it's first couple weeks in the ground last season. It's opening flowers now. Ours is pruned into a "standard" & is about 6-7' tall. Nice plant. Tricia...See Moremichele_1
