You might also try the little yellow climbing bleeding heart vine. It likes some cooler shade to bloom (at least here it does) and fries in too much sun. You will need something pretty light weight if you are simply gluing a hook system to wires or to fishing line. I have wood sided houses and we use hooks and eyes with wire, it does very well but nothing really heavy can go on, it will pull the hook right out (or the glue off of siding). If you have wood under your eves, consider a vertical invisible trellis that isn't even attached to the house. You could put wires along a piece of wood or pipe and attach that to the underside of the eves and then put something heavy along the ground (we tie ours around rocks) and let the vines climb up that. Works great!

I love the white of my BB, tho the very slightest hint of blue to give the impression of even brighter white would be most welcome! Can't wait for the '10 photo - a virtual walk in your serene oasis!!! I read your response to Ostrich ... I agree no more bets!!! (what were you thinking, putting you bottom penny on Barnie M'ox ... just kidding)! Gardening is more rewarding & we need your expertise ... heaven forbid you'd bet off ,posting in this forum - poor we, won't have a thing to drool over!!! My hubby couldn't understand my obsession over 'bluefying' my Hs ... he calls me 'glut for pains' ... told him it's more the fascination for teasing nature with coffee ground & drinks & the excitement in finding the slightest, noticeable conversion on last season's corals & pinks! I have enough blues & deep purples (perennials of course) that I had to explain to walkers-by that I'm a grandfather member of "When I'm an Old Woman I Shall Wear Purple" ... you guys are too young to know about this!!! LOL

my bb also turn bluish because of the acid soil-I grow some in pots and they do not blue-try that or use a fertilizer with a high middle number-that may help keep the blue out. You got a mislabeled Annabelle-they do not turn pink or blue-they go green, white, green-never blue or pink

Karen, Here are some pictures of my BB which is in the same area as my Annabell. Although my Annabell is under an overhang which offers protection from the rain. The BB was planted in the fall and the Annabell this Spring. I have heard that if you don't cut Anna down in the fall or spring and leave her as is that she will produce more yet smaller flowers that won't flop as much. I intend to try this for next year. My BB as you can see does not flop at all. You can see the faint pink blush as well as a faint blue on the bottom flower to the left: Here you can see the first blooms and at the back the new blooms forming so that you can see that it truly does bloom it's heart out. I do winter protect it. A close up: Here is my Annabell which is starting to flop on one side. Mind you I water at the base and it doesn't get rained on either. The Annabell however is true white: Conclusion: If you want pure white go with the Annabell. If you don't mind a faint tint to the flower and want something that blooms longer I'd go with the BB which from afar looks a brilliant white. I consider both to be reliable bloomers but with Anna you don't have to winter protect. I'd go to the nursery and put them both side to side and compare to which one you like most. Or like me, you could just take both home with you ;)
