The Groundhog Day celebration is rooted in a German superstition that says if a hibernating animal casts a shadow on Feb. 2, the Christian holiday of Candlemas, winter will last another six weeks. If no shadow is seen, legend says, spring will come early. 5. D. Yes Carol Channing was the first big star to do a half-time show at Super Bowl IV in 1970. Weather guy says that we're in for a cold snap and be leaning more toward that normaal colder temps and even some really good chances of snow through the end of Febuary. So, we shall see how the rest of the month pans out. Shan

Gosh durn that groundhog... I'm not surprised either! Just as long as we don't have another ice storm, I'll be fine. Hubby reminded me yesterday that last year we had a little ice storm in late Feb last year... ugh. We've gotten the branches from the front part of the house, now we have to do the back. I've gotten about six gallons of pecans off the ground too! My tree is strange, it doesn't drop all of it's pecans... I normally throw a broom up into the branches to knock them down... LOL! There's still more to pick up, more to clean up... Still saying a prayer for all those without power. My family all have electricity now, thank goodness! Here's yet another pic!
