Thanks for your reply ~ do you happen to remember the name of this particular Lamium? I need to dig up a couple of Undulata Hostas (I suspect HVX Issue) & wish to just cover the area w/a few more silvery looking Lamium. BTW Is the *Gold Heart* boosted up or really a tall BH? The one & only I have, is the white spectabilis that keeps her string of hearts for a long time & is still doing great ~ she produced her hearts at the same time as the Daffodils flashed open. Some of the earlier heart are turning to seed pods now as well! I have a 3 babies around the mother - I suppose I could relocate them at this point right? TIA

whass.. comparing sun exposure of an inground plant.. with this monster in a tiny pot is not helpful ... if it can not be in the ground within a few days.... get a larger pot.. and re-pot it.. until the raised bed issue is resolved.. UNTIL it is in a bigger pot.. NO SUN AT ALL ... but very bright filtered light .. in my world anyway... no pot is EVER left in the sun ... that is a greenhouse pot.. which most houses have 50% filtered light .., and perhaps overhead sprays on a timer.. so when we bring them home.. and leave them in the shade .. and then be sure to harden them back to sunlight before we plant them int eh garden ... WAAAYYYY TOOO MMMMUUUUCCCCHH SUNNN!!!! the necessity of the plants need for sun is irrelevant .. its the pot that is the issue .... and dont get me started on the retained heat of the concrete and the sun reflected off the white 'crete.. if that is where it is sitting in the sun .... or i am wrong .. lol ... ken

Maggie - On my pink fernleaf, I wait until they turn black. If they happen to fall off the pod they are easy to spot on the ground because they are kind of shiny compared to the soil. Somewhere in my travels I've ready they do better if sown while fresh. It took me three or fours to finally get some to winter sow for me, I just wasn't having any luck. Now they babies have grown and I have them throughout the yard. I love them, they just bloom their heads off! I would try sowing them now and see if you have any success.

I have a bleeding heart that is 30 years old planted when my daughter was a newborn although I moved it 16 years ago when we moved into our current house I have always treated it like it was made of glass. My daughter now has a son and I wanted very much to give her a piece of the bleeding heart and have been afraid to do so. Thank you for all of your shared experiences now I will have the "heart" to share it with my daughter. <3 Never would of thought they could be treated like my hostas and sedum so very happy!
