Cool, corner. Which way is that window facing, east? Wish I had somewhere to do that. My birthday was the beginning of Oct and my husband asked me what I wanted and I told him a sunroom. He laughed at me.

Yup, that window is an east window, so the lights are there just to give it that tad more light it is going to need in the winter. My hubby is trying to convince me to let him make me another plant room in the basement.....we already have one for his plants, and I just dont want my hoyas out of my sight....lol. I just hate the basement, but over the winter, I think I will push him to do it. The rest of my house looks like plant overload too.....lol. That is only one corner.

Take some pictures of the rest of your plants so we can see, are they hoyas too? So your husband has plants too?

That would be a whole lot of pictures.....lol. There are at least 60 hoyas in my house, many duplicates, quite few AV's, then there are all my gesneriads....streptocarpus, episcia, kohleria, aeschynanthus, nematanthus, there are a few christmas cacti, a whole lot of pothos (I love these too). My hubby is a philodendron maniac....lol. He has plans to fruit a monstera deliciosa, takes a couple years but he is determined....lol. My Hubby is into these primitive looking jungle plants, and we are both in agreement that by the time we die, our house will look like a jungle of hoyas and philos. I will take more pics, and show you a few more.

That is cool that your husband loves plants too. Mine is ok with them but definately wouldn't want to take care of them, and the same case with the dog. But I think both the dog and the plants are growing on him. He was raving about one of my plants to a friend of ours when he was at our house. I have a heartleaf philo I absolutely love.

Nova, I love the rosary vine, I have a few of those, one has about 12 sets of seed pods on it right now, it spent all summer outside and was covered with those little (shall we say very "phallic"?) flowers.

So what kind of bulbs are you using in your "can" spotlights? I was just thinking, I have a corner of my living room that would be good for those. I recently found flourescent bulbs for recessed lighting fixtures, so now all my recessed lights are plant friendly!

The bulbs I have in the track lighting are 43W equivalent to 150 W, and I have 4 in there with homemade reflectors. The "corner" was also placed in this spot due to the fact that I also have a lot of light from that east window, from where I took that picture, there is also a south window. I used to have them under more intense HID light, but some were scorching and bleaching out, so I first moved down to 4 foot floro tubes, but I hated the look of those, so O switched to this idea. The hoyas are growing good, so it must be working.

Thanks for the pictures. Things are very different here in zone 9! All of my hoyas are outside on the screened porch. Philodenrons are grown in the ground. I'll love to see how you have them growing inside.

I'm new to hoyas... the picture of the single note cutting... what kind of hoya is that?
I have two that look very much like that one. I just got them... both in 6" pots. they were neglected! when I got them they were beginning to shrivel up, do to lack of water. They're looking good now though.
