Biggest Piecrusts? Blue? Yellow?

I am replacing 3 small Potentilla shrubs along my front walkway. They dwindled and eventually died as a nearby tree grew and changed the area from sun to dappled shade. I thought about the new Cityline Hydrangeas, but I think that they will probably not perform well in this exposed site and in zone 5.

I am thinking 3 big hostas would work, one blue in the middle, surrounded by two yellow. I want the WOW factor, so I am thinking maybe Jimmy Crack Corn for the yellow, something big and blue in the middle? I love the piecrusts. Maybe Queen of the Seas in the middle? Or is this too much solid color? Maybe a variegated hosta in the middle, such as Spring Fling?

The landscaping on the other side of the walkway has dwarf crimson and dwarf golden Barberrys, Palace purple heucheras, blue dwarf junipers, green and gold euonymous, some spireas, stella doro daylillies, and a purple smokebush, so I think staying with yellow and blue hostas would complement the existing color palette.

Thanks!
