Got my new ones

I just got my new hoyas in the mail and I was so excited waiting to see what ones they sent me. They come in 2 1/2" pots sellers choice 5 for $20. My husband got them for my birthday...SO I got them last night...I can now add Kentiana, Linearis, Polyneura, Purpureo-Fusca, and Australis 'Lizard Isle'

I can now say I have a Hoya collection!!!! This is in addition to my kq, kp, and bella!!

Thanks for listening to my rambling, thank God there's such thing as a hoya forum, my friends sure don't care about hoya's, and dont want to hear it.

Sounds like you made out good! What seller did you get them from? That's a nice selection - you can usually expect only the most common ones in a collection like that. Congrats! You're well on your way to to being a Hoya-holic!

I got my hoyas from Rob's Violets -Violetbarn.com, in NY...seem to be very nice people, and very nice well-rooted cuttings...

Not to be a total curmudgeon, BUT... 1) It's not your fence. It belongs to your neighbor 100% because he paid for it. That means you can't paint it, grow anything on it, or attach anything to it. 2) You don't have 6 more inches. That belongs to him, too! It's where the posts for his fence are. The fence is built entirely on his property! This isn't like buying a new house and the fence is on the property line: he paid for it and put it on HIS property. The property line appears to be where the wall is. The property line didn't move! (And no, he didn't "abandon" the 6" on her side, he's using it for the fence foundation.)

Got my oil changed and now my 'check engine' light is on.

*Is it just a big coincidence* Probably. I'd check the gas cap for starters. I've heard a number of people say that their lights came on simply because it wasn't on tight enough. You might tell the guys that changed the oil your story and see if they'd take a quick look to see if they did knock a wire or hose off. Good luck.

I'll have to look for that olive oil - maybe they will have it at Surfas. I'll bet it's quite tasty! Diana did a great job researching on you - congratulations on having her as a partner! Wireless modem can't find the Mothership!

first thing to always try is to power down everything the pcs, the router the modem pull the power on all of them then start up in this specific order after about a 5 min rest, power to the modem let it get fully lit up, then power to the router let it get fully lit up then power to your various computers. See if that helps very often it does. You might try doing it with the laptop near the router then move it where you want it to see if it keeps the signal. Also you may have to re-enter your passcode to your wireless network again in that laptop it may not have kept it if it has been off a long time.

Congrats! That is a very nice collection indeed...I am sure that is just the beginning of your collection. Like Denise said, you are definitely on your way to being a Hoya Addict, like the rest of us,LOL...Enjoy and good luck with your new plants!

I didn't know Rob's sells Hoyas, too! I've ordered AV's from them before, and they were always excellent. Great plants, and very expertly packaged. Now I gotta go check out violetbarn.com, lol.

I ordered from them this past summer, for the first time. I will definitely order again. Plants are growing and I'm very happy with them.

I've heard of Rob's Violets (from herein in NYC), & again thru my Indoor Gardenining Society. They're known for excellent violets. I'd heard the Hoyas were good but on the small size; I believe the folks involved are very well regarded.

I've done very little mail order & haven't dealt w/ them myself.

Yes, they arent the biggest plants ever...but I figured 4 dollars a pop for a nice healthy cutting was worth it, especially since I live in Ohio and we only have a few varities of hoyas to choose from in my area anyway...I really wanted to get some different kinds. I'm happy with them...I'll get some pics posted of the ones they sent me.
