An Ideal spot for Begonias, New guinea Impatiens or you could even try Regular Impatiens. I like Go-Go or Nonstop Begonias. Both have lovely rose shaped flowers that average 2 1/2 to 3 inches across. They are the only flower I know of that has distinguishible male and female blossoms. The male is roselike and the female is single. They have a tuber which can be saved and grown another year. If you want a shrub--try Dogwood Perennials of different heights include Bleeding heart--bleeding heart luxuriant has smaller heart shaped flowers, minus the drop, but it blooms all summer if it gets enough moisture. Astilbe--lovely plumes in various colors Hosta--It comes in many Heights,shades of green and bicolors with different flowers

Me!!! i filled the crate full of the stay green soil and have been sowing my seeds!! ohhhh man ohhh man!! i am sosooo anxious for this warm weather to come over here and stay here!! no more heater on, no more windows shut! and i'd love for the air conditioner to be off for like 2 months!! :')) but in ks thats an impossibility just from the humidity alone!! LOL sometimes i look outside and see its sunny then look at the temp on the pc, 49. ahhhhh!! then its gonna rain :'(( its april i'm ready for may flowers!! There is no difference in the sweetness of my triple crowns between the north or south facing berries. Your idea to mobilize the plants during the ripening phase is good. Devices with caster wheels are available to place under pots, although you may have to resort to making your own to ensure fitting and durability.

There are plenty of showy perennials that will suit your needs. Check these out: Polemonium/Jacob's Ladder Hellebore/Lenten rose Alchemilla mollis/Lady's Mantle Heuchera/Coral bells Aquilegia/columbine Actea/Black snakeroot Atherium/Japanese painted fern Persicaria virginiana/Virginia knotweed Wiegelia Pulmonaria/lungwort Not everything that's supposed to grow strictly in shade actually does best in those conditions so long as the soil supports its growing needs. Many of the plants I always understood did best in shade have thrived in part shade where I am. Things that are supposed to only grow in full sun have also thrived in part sun where I am as well. A bleeding heart/Dicentra spectabilis that was growing in full sun through a crack in a concrete walkway for dozens of years showed up at the top of a slope after I'd had the walkway widened & the soil transferred to the slope above. There are just some perennials that can't be killed no matter how you may abuse them. Altho' I don't prefer the yellow/orange colors, I don't discount them so long as they're low/no maintenance. My preference is for blue, white, pink or other colors in the same range.
