Check out Farmer Fred first. I like his shows. None are perfect. At least 2 shows with Spellman are on the site, Kinda hard to find. I tried posting URL, but it is too long and is trunicated if posted. I also like the shows with Debbie Flowers as guest. Pam Bone is good too! I just wondered if any other decent shows are out there? I wish i had a long commute!! Don Shor is awesome but he often covers non fruit plants, but I grow a lot of them too! Lois Richter is co-host, and she is rather annoying. I am sorry that I wanted to talk about the podcast. It's like going to a party and you say something in passing without having it be set in stone. I did not start the argument. Yet, it's like I no right to defend myself? I won't even bother to chat about this anymore. Have you not ever heard of a conversational ice breaker? I was the one who was misquoted not pt03. I was not only misquoted, but a whole new meaning was attached to what I said. I am not trying to convert the world to be exactly like me. I am only chatting. You really need to lighten up. It's like you go around looking for ways to insult people and tell them they are wrong because it makes you feel good, I guess. It is really stupid that this conversation turned into a flame war. How does the omission of "to their lifestyle" change the meaning into something else? If someone cares they can go and read what you said in the first place.

Yep ... Annie's starting her weekly podcasts again, ... after "neglecting" her violets for the 3-6 months that she had construction in her home. In the "first" episode of the new series of podcasts (#87), she says that she's down to 28 varieties Those that are left are dusty from the construction, and Annie thinks that they're in terrible shape. You should see her neglected violets, though. Her species violets look amazing. And her Jersey Snowflakes is breathtaking ... at least 18 inches across. Likewise, her "Fresh Air". I considered Jersey Snowflakes last year, but ultimately reconsidered. It's now back on the list. Some of her plant starts have grown to the point that they are blooming ... while still connected to the mother leaf. What I liked most about the latest issue is that I got to see her plants in bloom. That was what was most frustrating to me about her podcasts ... that her process for SHOWING her violets in competition kept her plants out of bloom so much (through disbudding).

How nice. We had the best podcasts going about 2 years ago down in San Diego, with www.signonsandiego.com, which is part of the San Diego Tribune. Mary James did them, and she was just fanstastic. Fortunately I saved them all as she ended up retiring, and they've never replaced her, which is such a shame. They were the best ever garden shows. 30 minutes interviewing one, two or three guests with very minimal commercial interuptions. And they removed the commercials when they archived the podcasts. Really miss having a good gardening show to listen to, I learned a ton from Mary's programs! Patty S.
