I'm very fond of mine, now in its second year, and so you have my sympathy. In your shoes, I might rush out and plant them in the shade in hopes that they will live - but maybe that would shock them more. I'm not expert. I'm not an expert photographer, either; the morning light glares on the 'White Feather' and the white dogwood here, sorry.

These white hostas are very delicate. Too much moisture on the leaves, too much wind, too much sun...easily damaged. As long as the crown and roots are healthy, it should send up a new, greener flush of growth.

Thanks to all for your advice and great picture! I didn't understand the 'delicate-ness' issue, as other hosta's seem to be war horses! I will pay heed to your sound advice. There is good news today...a new leave is making it's way towards the light on one of the plants. There may be hope afterall. Thanks again, JK

You'll see us talking about 'substance' of leaves, which just means, how thick are they?

Leaves with heavier substance tend not to be as subject to slug damage or sunburn and frost dessication.

A lot of the whites are notorious for having thin leaves which tend to be slug bait or otherwise easily damaged. 'Minuteman' is popular in part because it has better substance than other hostas with a lot of white on the leaves.

JK without chlorophyll, the Whitefeather has no protection from the sun, kind of like an albino. If your white leaves burn or die off, the plant will send up another flush of leaves that are light green. Don't worry about it cuz it's normal for this hosta.
