WANTED: Hoyas polyneura and serpens
Comments (4)Hi M, I'd be interested in a cutting of H. serpens, unrooted would be fine, I could send you a unrooted cutting of E. 'Cleo' or something else in exchange. You don't have an email contact on your members page but I have one on mine, hoping to hear from you. Annette...See MoreHoya serpens budding up!
Comments (19)Thank you! :) The seedlings sure are cute! Such slow growers, but they're starting to look like small serpens plants now. They might have gotten too little light in the first few months of their lives, maybe that's why they didn't grow any true leaves for such a long time. amber m/ The serpens seeds sprouted without any problems. I just carefully picked them out of the cotton and lay them on top of moits soil, and then misted them with a spraying bottle. I used small pots (maybe 2 inch), the pots were then put inside clear plastic drinking cups with clear plastic wrapping covering the top (I poked "breathing holes" in the plastic covering). Like mini greenhouses! The success rate was close to 100%, but I weeded out the weak ones and only kept the ones that grew the most. Kind of regret not keeping them all. :/ Let's try and embed a picture of the mini greenhouse, and at the same time I can try to learn how to resize pictures from photobucket (thanks for the tip on how to do it, greedyghost)... You can see the tiniest little speck of a seedling towards the middle of the pot, and a couple of light brown seeds lying on the soil. rennfl/ How exciting that you've got serpens seedling too! We must compare notes, and see what is the best way to raise these babies! :) How large are your seedlings at the moment? And do you have a lot of them?...See Morejust open...hoya pachyclada, hoya cv. Comments (18)Very Pretty Jan and Jo!! Congrats to you both, I just LOVE serpens flowers, have a small rooted cuttings of Mathilde and love the leaves, I just wish Mathilde flowers were closer to the Serpens. Seems a lot easier for me in(Fl) to grow the Mathilde than Serpens, not as finicky...but the blooms are so worth it! Thanks for sharing!...See MoreRecommendation Extravaganza
