If Santa was willing to give you any one DL your heart desired, what DL would you pick? Mine would be Kelly Mitchell's new intro DANNY MACK MITCHELL. I have been wanting DANNY STEVE MITCHELL and keep getting oubid on in when I find it on the LA, but DANNY MACK looks like it might even be better.

So what is at the top of your Christmas wish list?

That is a hard one. It would have to be northern hardy, preferable a dormant, vibrant colour, and at least a 40 budcount in my Zone 5b garden. I am currently torn between two daylilies by Richard Norris: Ashwood Still Night and Memorial to Steve.

I would definitely request a functioning remote thermometer. I have one but it never seems to read when the main control is inside. I think maybe it's too far away. And I'm constantly focused on the temps. So it's quite frustrating not to be able to tell what's going on in there. FROM INSIDE MY HOUSE That about a hundred other things :)

I'd like about 200 new hosta to fit amongst the 200 ferns and 100 hellebore my new dream shade gardens would call for. But that's the easy part. I'd also like the garden space - tilled, and raked and ready for the new plants. Soil must be prepared to my exacting standards. While the soil is being prepared, I would like to spend a long springtime in the south. I'd start in the desert when the spring rains bring the flowering show, and gradually work my way north and east, so I could experience as many springs as possible. Eventually, I'd arrive back home in our own northern spring to contemplate the new garden space. I'd dream about it for a few weeks, twig the design for another few, and then actually plant the new plants. In the meantime, I'd enjoy the hundreds of varieties of peonies I had planted throughout my dream property. I have peonies and some very nice ones too, but I can never devote the garden space I'd like to to a plant that has such a short bloom season, but provides so much beauty in bloom. Vermiculite, perlite, a bale of peat, plant labels, and new tubes for my plant lights. If I've been a really good girl (probably haven't), I'd like another seed starting mat. I know that's stretching it. Can you guess how I spend my winter months? Oh, more snow would be good. My gardens would really appreciate it. Sledding would be much easier. Hello Everyone, Sounds like we all have been busy!!! : ) K, I really am glad to hear that Plumeria are hypoallergenic!!! LOL...now i can tell the DH thats it is truly not the Plumeria that is causing the "eye roll.." LMAO. Maybe, its a "winter thing.." LOL... Seriously, i did the dance yesterday when i brought in another cutting from a friend when we had lunch! I thought that i was quick enough to place it upstairs with all of the other gems..but i was caught in the act.. : ) Its a good thing that it was small!! Thanks Peg!! Psycho is a wonderful choice, im sure you will have great success in finding a cutting!! : ) Mike, I know what you mean about all of the $ going for the kids, just wait until they get older...the price of each item only gets bigger!!! My kids are all grown and will be here for CHristmas, im looking forward to a fun and relaxing time with them. Enjoy your little ones..they sure do grow up way to fast!!! : ) Colors are a wonderful thing... Im sure you will have a few colors in your spring collection... Have a wonderful Christmas!!! Alex, I sure hope that your Pudica will turn around for you!!! How has your weather been up north? Sounds like your Plumies want to stay active... The ones that i have under lights and the ones just sitting in my great room are doing well. They are all still happy and with most of their leaves. I am just letting them do what they want. It is very interesting to see how all of the different varieties react to winter. Some are ready to rest, others dont want to be silent at all. I will just listen to what they want to do. Oh my, this is a tough one. I would want a gift cert to Floyd Cove to pick out a beauty (undecided right now) or one of the Gaskins that carefree mentioned -- I love Duke of Gascone and Monet's garden. And wild Irish.....

Linda, I'm going to look up the names you listed, I am not familiar with them. And Jan, that pic of Alan Lane Agin is WOW.

WOW Jan,That is a beautiful daylily.. well, its a hard question,but,I would love to have BEAUTIFUL EDGINGS.Don't know where I seen it at, and of course Marriotts has the beauties.Love that BETTY FORD AND CARNIVAL IN BRAZIL.

Southern Dazzle - Nicole Harry '09 or
Get Jiggy - Stamile '09

There are lots of others, of course, but these two really, really impress me a lot!!

HI, This is good. I agree that a gift cert to Floyd Cove nursery would be great. I also just love Get Jiggy, but I would want santa to bring me the entire Butterfly Collection. :)) Does that sound terribly greedy. ? I also wish for Azure Hooded Jay from Art Gallery. Guess I love the blues, just wondering how blue are they really? Oh, and I'm in the north and I am wishing for all of these southern beauties. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays to everyone. Cindy

LOL Kimkats - that's what I told my family last year. I didn't get a single gift certificate, daylily, or money from any of them to buy more daylilies. They all thought I'd gone quite mad.

I don't want a single daylily this Christmas. I am hoping Santa's helpers will kill all the deer and rabbits within 10 miles of my place. It would be useless to get another daylily until I can have an 8' fence erected

I agree with Jan - I would love to have Southern Dazzle from Nicole Harry. Now I could also make a want list that is quite long. I would love to have many of the Stamile intros for '09 and some from the Gossards and some from the Rices and on and on and on.

I have told my husband that I want $$ for daylilies for Christmas and birthday. I think he will gladly do this since he has such a hard time shopping for me. He is happy for me to make it so easy for him. At least I hope he takes me at my word since I have already reserved Sir Francis Drake and Get Jiggy from Floyd Cove plus won several on the Lily Auction.

I'd really like santa to bring me "Curtis Montgomery" It's not brand new, 07 I think. But I really, really like it!
I like the name "Get Jiggy" Reminds me of Will Smith. lol
I'll have to check that one out... I may want to add it to my cillection just for the name alone.

Wow, what a question. Duke of Gasgone and Mort Morss select seedling MLMKY9. Of course as long as santa is being so nice Weavers Web (Morss) would be a great Bonus plant, lol.

Bloomingcrazy - you would love "Curtis Montgomery". Bloomed like crazy for me this year, very nice DL.

I stopped waiting on Santa and took care of things in the last week or so. I bought Westbourne L. V. Kirby (M.J. Meadows, 2006) and Rose Heat (Stamile, 2007) on the LA. I don't really have any space for them, but you know I will find a spot when they arrive this spring.
Now if Santa really wants to forgive my impatience, he could provide Iwanna Pirannah or any of these Gossards: Venus Fly Trap, Rosy Spiketail or Heavenly Bombshell.
