Ellie, I knew I shouldn't visit the LA this morning!! LOL I'm afraid I fell off the wagon, but not too badly however, only picked up one beauty...just look at the buds on this gorgeous dl. Photo courtesy of Tinkers.

I'm happy for you Jan. Sherry Candy is also my favorite with Special Candy a very close second. We play bingo at my house at Thanksgiving time instead of exchaging Christmas gifts. My bingo caller was my grandaughter who loves Sherry Candy. Although she now lives in Maine, she is moving to Pa next year if all goes well. I told her for calling the bingo for me she got Sherry Candy as a thank you gift. She was jumping up and down LOL. I will hold it for her and send it when she gets settled. They both really showed off for me this year pictured below. Dot

Hi Alice, I am sooo sorry to hear about your well head. I have lived that very same experience with our family property. The well head died & well went dry about 6 months after my Grandfather passed away (4 years ago) in the middle of summer, it was really stressful. The positive for you & your family is the piece of mind moving forward that your well is good to go. The guy that we dealt with (3rd generation family owned well company, since the 1920s) told me that a good quality well head should last 20-30 years with good water conditions/good well configuration. You will sleep good at night not worrying about your well, & you deserve that Big-Time for all that you do on this forum helping people. Keep us posted how the well pump change-out works out. Thanks all. This is not a water heater. This is a boiler that heats the house and gives us hot water. This is not a cheap installation. Unfortunately, we will NOT be getting any savings in energy. What was there was a 90% plus efficiency system. We got all the quotes we needed. We are going with a system just below 10K. the bids were coming in up to 20K using the best German boiler, Viessman. I think that is a bit steep for us and an overkill in the city that rarely sees a freeze. We made our selection. Handing over the keys and are going on our planned winter vacation. Hopefully when we get back, everything will work... I am counting my blessing that this type of thing does not put me over the financial edge. I am really lucky to have a good job and be able to pay for the luxuries of life when so many people cannot. Happy new year to all.

We're pretty sure it was the little twerp (about 9 years old) who lives diagonnally behind us. I had told him previously to stop cutting through my yard and climbing the fence to go from our street to his. We didn't realize that the first time happened there--we THOUGHT the first incident occurred at the new house. Until the second one which HAD to have happened back at the old house. After that, we installed a driveway alarm and it did catch the twerp cutting through a couple of times. We obviously can't prove he was the one who did it but we're about convinced. No, not in the garage, but we live over 30 miles away, so hopefully.... And yes, it's very annoying that someone would do damage like that, I've been SO angry over it. And even now--I am thrilled that DH had the work done for me for Christmas, but when you get right down to it, the little twerp actually cost me a Christmas present--I'd have gotten something else, something fun, if it weren't for this needed (and wanted) repair.

Rick....maybe this one will increase really fast for me and who knows, someone might get a fan or two!! LOL In the description Bonnie posted on it, she said that most of her "keepers" came from this dl, so I'm thrilled to add it to my collection.

Jan - You will just love CHARTERED COURSE. It's a beauty and a workhorse. AND an incredible breeder. The pollen is SO fertile that it will set pods on the most reluctant mamas. Here's a photo of mine from last summer.

I have not been showing much restaint either. The past two weeks I've been very bad and bidding on Christmas presents for myself. I have no idea where I'm going to put these: Wild At Heart, Ashwood Blue Highway, Free Wheelin', Lord of the Wind, Beyond the Sea and Winter Wolf.

I just purchased that one for myself and 12 others to go along with it. I think I may be out of control. Have great plans for using it for hybridizing. Mike

That one's been on my list, and I didn't even realize it was capable of that kind of bud count. You and Santa must have a very special relationship. I think I'm getting a new blender.

Very nice. I have been tempted to get that one but I am afraid of it being evergreen this far north. Instead I got Shores of Time, which is a dormant. Mike, you will have to let me know how it does in your garden.

This year I have gone for more of the unusual forms. I figured I had gotten enough round and ruffled last year. Ones I am looking forward to for next year are Heavenly Angel Ice, Northwind Dancer and my latest purchase Thorhalla.

Laurel gave herself some dl seed, but I want to see photos....come on guys!

jan, thats a beautiful DL and you deserve a christmas present for yourself. I can't buy myself a christmas present,have to buy for my kids and grandkids,and on a fixed income,I have to do with out this year.I can injoy looking at every one elses DL's.That Much Ago About Magic is a beauty,too. Hi all - I bought 'Gavin Petit' and 'Eyes on the Prize' as I love Dark Eyes and Edges! Here's a pic of Creature of the Night which bloomed (in my garden) its very first season beautifully for us here in CA!
