Found another scape today.

the ccouple days of 70 we had was great, but tomorrow night its suppose to go down to mid 20's,ND i FOUND AI HAVE ANOTHER DAY;ILY WITH A NEW SCAPE ABOUT 6 INCHES HIGH.Pandora's Treasure is wanting to bloom again for me, but,i really doubt it will make it this time.sure hope its that energetic when spring gets here.I really miss seeing daylily blooms as I am sure every one else is, too.right now, any kind of Bloom would be welcome, even a weed bloom.

This weather is so crazy. The poor plants don't know what to do. Haven't seen any scapes on d.lilies here, and with the really cold weather coming, that should keep everything down, at least for awhile. We still have blooms on verbena and some roses, Know everyone will be glad to see the daylilies bloom again. Avedon

The weather is really crazy, isn't it? I have one iris with multiple blooms, and another with a bloom scape. I also had a bloom cluster to open on a hydrangea yesterday. And the gardenias continues to bloom along here and there.

You must be so excited to see scapes. I noticed a scape on ELMORE JAMES some time ago and then, after that, another on the same daylily. This one is registered as an EM, but I sure don't think of May 25 as being in the least bit EM. Interesting that, in this mature clump, both scapes are on the side nearest to the Belgian block edging to the large stone patio. Maybe the heat from the stones is enough to affect blooming. My only other scapes are on three new-to-me plants from the south -- MARISSA JONEA, ANGELS GATHER ROUND, and NO EXPIRATION DATE. I've left only one scape on MJ and on NED, and I'll probably cut off all but one bloom on each as well, assuming I have the willpower. AGR came to me in the first week of March and had been potted up since then and spent cool/cold times in the sunroom before going outside permanently. I'm hoping that treatment will give me excellent first-time blooms + rebloom. I also have one daylily that's done. I don't have an ID, nor do I recall where I got it. The color and form tell me it's a real oldie though not a species. Just an orangy yellow with pointy, somewhat starry blooms. Nothing special, but I like the fact that it blooms so early.

Wow! It's amazing that one-third of your daylilies are reblooming. Sixty-eight of mine have put up rebloom scapes. Before this year, 40 was my most with rebloom. Who knows, after all this rain we've gotten the past three days there may even be more. But I don't think I'll be able to catch up with you, Kay. You are the Rebloom Queen! Debra

Rita, That's just it. This is a 2 fan plant that I put in this past spring. It is NOT established well yet. It bloomed in M season and the same scape is putting up a rebloom already. I've never seen rebloom here even on Stella due to the very dry conditions but do have supplemental water this year. I am truly amazed. This one just wants to bloom its head off! Of course it is so cool now that it will have a hard time opening unless I just bring the scape indoors. This one had a hard time opening when our summer nights got into the 50s.

yea KAY the plants dont know what to do with this crazy weather we have been getting.A iris bloom now? thats pretty crazy too, I have never seen iris bloom this time of year,I have a couple roses still blooming that the deer hasnt ate up yetcourse one of the blooms is Mr LINCOLN and the bloom is high up, dont think a deer can reach it, well they could if they stand up on the hind legs. which I see them doing all the time.My Hydrangea
s dont have many leaves on them and certainly no blooms.
AVEDON. glad you at least have some verbena blooms. all mine is about dead, the leaves has burnt up on them. what I do have thats very odd right now is a tomatoe plant that is full of tomatoes. they are small and they are all green except 3 thats red.one african daisey plant blooming. Yes, I am one that will be so happy for the daylilies to all bloom again.I reslly miss them.

Amazing, Jean. I hope my Pandora's Treasure does well next year, seems like it should be a vigorous one. I've had a couple of lilacs bloom a bit, and another spring blooming shrub that I can't think of right now, is blooming some.
Kay, I would have thought the weather would have been great for reblooming iris here, but I didn't have that many bloom. Mostly white varieties of rebloomers performed well. Earl of Essex is my most dependable rebloomer, but it started so very late that most blooms got frozen out. A few others budded very late but the freeze got them too. I guess the chilly weather must stimulate them to bloom, but they didn't have enough time before freezing. Ah well, can't really complain when the weather has been so pleasant.

That is super crazy, Jean. Maybe it is a sign that we will have an outstanding daylily bloom season next time!!
Stay warm!! It is so hard when we have 60 degree days, and then threats of snow.

Yeah, scapes. Crazy year with so many late scapes. No scapes here. I did have one trying to come up on WESTBOURNE TID BIT which is new this fall. But I cut the scape as it is just way too late here. I don't have anything blooming here as even my annuals I pulled and tossed in order to get my mulching done.
