What would you have done?

Yesterday I went to a local nursery to look for a new Liberty to replace the one that died. I didn't hold out much hope, since they usually only carry about a dozen different hosta, and I was right they didn't have it.

What they did have were three Sagae in 4 gallon pots (Monrovia) that were HUGE. Talk about instant gratification. One had 12 huge fat eyes, leaves would just about cover a standard dinner plate. They were gorgeous. All for the low, low price of 42.99.

It was tough, on the one hand Ken is always saying buy as large as you can afford and on the other hand I remembered what thisismelissa said about being field grown, lot of root loss from digging up and being set back next year so I passed. Course it took me 30 minutes of circling them before I could walk out the door.

See, I pay attention. But I am curious, what would you have done?

Alexis
