Great pictures. I really love your bulb lilies!! I am drawn to the Tango ones. I didn't realize you had the trumpet form lilies also. I like Grace Like Rain, I was so close to getting it, but due to diminishing space and then going to Curt Hanson's place, well, you know how that goes. Really something can be said for the ditch lily. It is beautiful when planted like that. I have some planted on the lake bank, along with the Kwanso, and I do like to see them in bloom. I will always have them planted there, even talked a neighbor into planting some on her bank too! cindy

Congratulations on the Sprout! Very cute baby. Loved seeing your pictures also. I had put in some gorgeous Larkspur but ended up taking it out as it is deadly to dogs. Might want to do some research on it's affect on humans. It appears to be a skin irritant if just touched and not ingested but is toxic if ingested. My boy dog tends to go through the bed it was in with his mouth open sniffing around so I got worried. While there are many poisones plants that cause problems this one seemed to be more potent than most, causing death in dogs, with no known treatment.

I don't think common daylilies are all THAT bad. In the right spot they can be beautiful. Someone here or on another forum recently posted a photo of (I believe) common daylilies planted en masse in their garden, and it was just beautiful. I have some planted around a tree at the end of my driveway near the road. And nothing like a country road with a stone wall and some daylilies. :) Dee

Just a note..... you said "Last year I dug out all the ditch lilies blooming before they seeded" Just an FYI ....... Ditch lilies do not form seeds. They are stoloniferous ( spread via root ) which is why everyone is telling you that you need to get rid of all the roots, even small pieces or over time they will regenerate and pop up new plants. Organic kitten is correct . Regular daylilies i.e. hybrid daylilies don't revert to ditch lilies
