OK.....Now I know just how .....

hard it is to dig up and divide daylilies. I've only had daylilies for three years but one of them grew really fast, plus I have two of the same so I dig up one clump and divided it the other day and I though my back was going to break trying to lift it out of the hole. I replaced it with a different daylily.

I watered to area really well then took my big fork digging around the clump got it loose but it was so heavy and large that I was wrestling with it like a gator LOL. Once I washed all of the soil away from the clump it was easy to separate but I had a BIG hole where it came out and had to replace some of the soil.

I now have more respect for those that dig and sale daylilies for a living. You have to be a very strong person to do this all the time.
