Costco/Priceclub is an American chain.

With something like Bressingham Blue and the size it gets eventually they should be planted about 4 to 5 ft apart. It will not look terribly impressive the first 3 or 4 years, but your only other option is to buy 8 reasonably large specimens of it from a nursery @ around $40-50 each, IF you can find them that large. So, bite that bullet and learn to get used to the fact that bagged bare root Hostas are at best 2 years old when you buy them and Hostas typically won't reach maturity until they're 8-10.

Incidentally, I bought some Hostas @ Costco as well last week and mine are all planted out. I'm in B.C. however and in your deep freeze you should hold off planting them until after all danger of frost is gone, OR, plant them in 1 gallon pots and put them in a cool room in the brightest light you can find and let them grow out until you can transplant them outdoors after that last frost danger. Be prepared though for some fairly leggy plants unless you can put them under intense light. Your thought about putting them in the fridge for the time being isn't a bad one at all.

Oh, and go back and buy a bag of Hosta Halcyon, a smaller blue and a true classic.

Plant them all separately, spaced at least 3' apart. If you want to put them together in a row at the back of your bed, at least stagger them in a zig-zag pattern...not a straight line. This is much more eye appealing. Being blue hostas, better to plant in more shade. If you plant in more sun, they will grow great, but the wax will melt off (that's what makes the hosta appear blue) and you will have green hostas.

As far as what to do with them right now, follow Pieterje's advice, get them in soil & pots right away and put in bright light and of course, keep them watered. I'm growing my hosta seedlings right now under shoplights in the basement!

I will take your advice and plant them on their own.

I am impressed with the price still. I think I found the very same plants for sale, at a few mail order /online catalog places, they where selling 1-2 eye roots, which these are for $8-$9 each, this was a bag of 8 for under $20.00.

I have no room to grow anything more inside, so they will have to stay in the fridge for a few more weeks. Then I may pot them up and put them out in a coldframe, bringing them in if the weather turns too chilly!

I don't have a lot of room for many more Hostas, I may have trouble finding room for these 8 as most of my house is surrounded in sun! perhaps I will share the love with some relatives ;-)

Or you can plant them in a group and simply remove the in-between-ones in a few years when things get crowded. You can share those "filler" plants with relatives later. That way you can enjoy every one of your new octuplets!

Bressingham Blue is one of my all time favorites.

Ok, one more question... If three hostas are planted close together, and in a few years they become crowded... why could they not be divided back into individuals that point?? I am not saying to plant them within 2 inches of eachother, but if they where pretty close, wouldn't you be able to tell where one starts and the other ends in a few years??

Homemommy- A clump of three is a great effect and you definitely can divide or move later. Below is a grouping of three Krossa Regal planted in '05 and and bottom is in '08. My plan originally was to move one or two later as they matured. But every time I think about moving one, I decide better because I love the clump. I think they were planted 30" apart.
