Cindy, I am in love with Sitting On A Cornflake. It would be my pick of the daylilies. Also, I liked the picture of Whiskey and the Black Swans. Your yard looks interesting.. I think the new bed would be glorious with all the bulbs, in the spring. Great pictures...Ellie

Sitting on a Cornflake looks very good, but I understand then that it has not survived a winter with you? Your lake shot is so wonderfully framed it looks like a painting.

Beautiful blooms for Sept. I'm jealous. Glad the furry kids are doing well and it's so nice to see someone else with a pot ghetto.

Nice blooms, I love Saucerful of Secrets! I have candy lilies too, which most look like your blackberry lily, but I have a few solid yellow & coral colors. What fun it will be next summer to see all your new blossoms! Babe has grown so much & looks happy. Wonderful photo of the swans, wouldn't that make a wonderful painting. I've really enjoyed your photos this morning, you've made my day :)

Wow, what a great shot of the lake and I can see the swans way in the backround.

You sure do have more energy than I do making that lovely new gardenbed area. It will be just stunning with all those spring bulbs. You might want to try some upright sedum as it does just fine in part shade and blooms now in the fall when one needs something going on. Ferns would be great there also. I love the textures of ferns.

You must be doing something right to get all that rebloom. Things here are done. But your garden really looks great and so does Whiskey. Glad to hear that all the cats are doing well.

Great photos Cindy. SAUCERFUL OF SECRETS looks good. I wondered if you would see the pinching or not. Mine did not pinch that much...maybe next year.
The pic of the lake with the swans is so pretty. Leaves are starting to turn here too.
I admire your skill to lay out the hose to figure out your beds. I just start digging and dumping dirt. Sort of planning as I go along LOL.

You sure do have alot of pots. How will you winter them over?

Your lake picture reminded me of Yeats' "Wild Swans at Coole."
It isn't October yet, but your water mirrors a still sky. Our woodland paths here are not dry. Yeats wrote this in 1916, when he was 51.

The Wild Swans at Coole

Thanks everyone for looking and commenting!! Thanks Rita for the suggestion of ferns, I never thought of that and I have a few I need to move.
Mantis, the poem was wonderful, and you are right, Sitting on a Cornflake was planted this past spring, so it has not overwintered here yet. I do have high hopes for it, and will be mulching it in.
Nancy, I think candy lilies and blackberry lilies may be the same thing if not closely related. I really don't know what the differences, if any, are between them.
Julia, Saucerful of Secrets only had slight pinching on some blooms. This was it's second summer. My pots all go into a room that I have attached to my house. ,It maintains an even temperature,and doesn't freeze. There is also some light due to a west facing window. The back part of the room was used as a root cellar at one time, so it works out perfectly. I don't know what I would do otherwise. It is where the outside cats 'live' during extreme weather.
I will have to try to get a good pic of Bowie, he just doesn't follow me around now like Whiskey does.
