Tuesday blooms - repeats

It was so hot and humid over the weekend and on Monday we were given a full day of steady rain and our temps didn't make it over 60 degrees F during the day and today was the same temp but the rain held off. I wish I could send some of this rain to all those who need it. We are expecting more rain this evening and will continue until Thursday. I was able to get 1 order of daylilies in the ground today since the rains held off and I noticed several blooms open. Had to take some pics ;-). Hope you don't mind the repeats.

CERISE MASTERPIECE - yes, still blooming and looks like it has another bud to open tomorrow.

PEARL COVE - still opening. Short but still a nice bloom.

WORTH IT ALL - still going. This is from the front garden. Not the best of what it can be but just shows how different the blooms open.

BELLE ISLE LIPSTICK - look at all the buds still waiting to open. It has been here 3 seasons and this by far is the best year for it blooming. Just keeps sending up scapes.

HAPPY RETURNS - blooming low in the foliage on rebloom.

WREN'S SONG - I've been waiting for this new scape to start blooming and the bloom is huge. I would estimate it meets the 7 inch registered bloom size. Very flat opening during cooler temps. It usually recurves but not enough heat I guess.

And I'll throw in one of my clematis blooming. I love this one. It opens slowly over several days but today, it looks almost fully open.

Beautiful blooms. I am really impressed with all the buds on BELLE ISLE LIPSTICK so I chooose it as my favorite. I really like CERISE MASTERPIECE also.

Thanks everybody for your nice comments! I looked at them in afternoon to see how they looked after the sun. Almost all were baked and faded. Siloam Doodlebug looked quite good, almost like in the morning, but the champion was Wild Horse, it looked just like in the morning, with slight diamond dusting, vibrant colors and all, what a good daylily. But I don't want to grow only light and small flowers. Oh well, I'll enjoy the rest in the mornings.

Thanks everybody! Berry Delicious and 6th noid are my personal favorites :) I like Ru.Ragtime too. Debra, I was surprised to see some kind of a pattern on Yesterday's Secrets, it usually showed it only on very hot days when the sun would bleach its petals. It is not my type of dl, but I keep for Daylily Diversity :) Red Friday on the other hand.. I thought last year being the first year it bloomed that the flowers looked meh. Like washed out, or like it has been in the rain and then sun all day. Seems like this is how it looks in my garden. And I gave it one of the best spots..

Thanks all for commenting. BEST KEPT SECRET looks so similar to some others that I have that I plan to move it out of the garden. It performs just fine but I have too many which look too similar so time to move them out. ROCKS CRY OUT photo was taken at the end of the day as was INDY SNOWFALL and SECRETS AND LIES. CONCORDE NELSON was planted last fall so the scapes are shorter than normal this year but I'm expecting much taller scapes next year. Increased okay. RAINBOW'S GLORY has been moved 2 times since I got it 3 years ago. Once I got the Rice bed organized, I moved it with the others and it seems to be doing better. Not fast increaser so far but I just moved it last fall. It was top heavy in buds this year but many of the daylilies here were that way and I think it has to do with all the rain we got. EMPEROR'S CHOICE always does good here. I divided the clump last year in the fall and it didn't skip a beat this year. Now I have a second one to find a home for. LOL. Julia

Nice rebloom. The rain is nice for newly planted hems. Unusually cool, but after the torrid weekend, I'm not complaining. Just hope October is not below normal.

Those are all just beautiful and made even more so by the lateness of the season. It's hard to pick a favorite out of these since I like them all. They are each lovely in their own way. Everytime I ordered from Maryott I thought about getting Wren's Song...so finally when I placed my last order a couple days ago I had every intention of adding it...then saw it was sold out. Now I'm mad at myself!

Very nice, thanks for sharing I'm down to the last two buds on Lilting Belle, one more on Ruffled Strawberry Parfait and a few Stellas. Bmlwhuf, newly planted 2 weeks ago threw up a scape 3 days after planting and I had to force myself to cut it off so it could put energy into root growth. So very hard to do.

Well, I csn not pick a favorite out of these, as I like all of them..They are all beautiful and I love that Clematis.Have never seen one like it before.Its really different,and very pretty..Dont matter if they are repeats,as its still not the same bloom,and each bloom can be very different.Thanks for posting them...

All of them are great looking. The amount of blooms still left on Belle Isle Lipstick are amazing.

Thanks all for the comments. I enjoy still seeing a few blooms when walking the garden and trying to decide who needs to get moved. BELLE ISLE LIPSTICK has really been a surprise this year.
The clematis is JOSEPHINE. I got it this year after one I ordered died and they agreed to replace but not till September. Rather than wait till now for the replacement I went ahead and found another source. I was a bit worried that replacements sent in September would not get established in time and I'd be back to square one next spring.

I can't pick just one daylily, but I really love that clematis, so it is my pick. So different than most clematis.
