They are all pretty and especially pretty given that is is mid September already. CANYON COLORS really is my absolute favorite and that is such a great picture.

Of course we can not get by without our modern conveniences and electricity tops the bill. I would be floundering with my computer also. Really need to be connected or I feel lost :-(

I love Canyon Colors, my very favorite here. Worth it all is a really pretty color too. Actually, they are all nice, I keep going back & looking them over.

I agree with the Canyon Colors admiration. I had been curious when seeing it on the LA if the colors were so pretty and they really are nice and unmuddied!

Just keep being amazed at all the beautful daylilies still showing up. Can't pick a favorite, love them all... The Maudie Malcolm canna is a gorgeous color. What is its habit? Really can't pick a foavorite as they are all beautiful! I like something about ach of these blooms. Wren Song has caught my eye a few times this season. I like pink and yellow together so maybe that is it. Is she winter hardly, like really winter hardy? :)

I greatly admire your daylilies which are still chugging along in mid-September! And they are all beautiful which makes it even better. Very nice eye candy for daylily-starved eyes.

It's hard to pick a favorite but I do like Kiowa Sunset and Wrens Song. The color blends are really nice on them. Canyon Colors is nice to. I have 2 that are still budding up, May May and Blackberry Candy who is doing the best job of flowering ever, 20 buds on one scape! Unfortunately, I don't think they will get to bloom because nights are already down to 5C. As for my new beds, I did plant up one with my new plants but I think it's to late to move the established plants, they will have to wait til spring. Marg

Wow. You still have so many pretty ones blooming. Hard to pick a favorite, but I think the honors go to CANYON COLORS. That canna has a really bright & gorgeous color.

Honalee, Wren's Song overwintered here in zone 4, I only have it since last year, but I think I can say it's winter hardy.

I can't chose a favorite. I have had Something Marvelous and have seen tons of pictures but yours is the only one I have seen that's the right color. Mine looked like Ballroom Waltz!!!! Ellie

Avedon: Yes, I have to dig the cannas up each year and store them. They won't winter over here.For the past years I had them in large pots but this year decided to see what difference I would get if I put them in the ground. One thing is more bloom stalks. Now I have to dig them up out of the ground next month. Ice cream is my treat tonight :-).

honalee: My zone is higher than yours but looks like nat4b is close to yours so hopefully WREN'S SONG would do good for you if protected?

CANYON COLORS can have a different color.Here is a pic of how it was earlier in the season when it bloomed. Much deeper color for the petals and sepals.

I agree with others, that Canyon Colors is really nice. It is something how it can look so different during different times. Great pics once again!
I'm getting the big chill too!! with the warmth slowly increasing back to normal. Missed most of the storms, just a few hours north of me had 2 -3 inches of rain, while it only spit here. Crazy weather. but I think the cool down will make for good gardening weather.

Ellie: SOMETHING MARVELOUS has always done great here. I've not been disappointed with the blooms and it blooms for a long time here. Sorry to hear you got the wrong plant.

I like them all, so not trying to pick a favorite.i use to have all kinds of csnna's. I finally got rid. of them all....they are snake magnets.

I truly like them ALL, Julia. The squirrels (hateful creatures!) ate all my cannas this year. They also chew off the new rose canes on my climbers. OK, I'll pick ITZA PINK TEDDY because of it's gorgeous color, but they'd all look great in my garden.

Maudie Malcom is supposed to be a short canna--only three feet tall. It looks like a glowing fuchsia pink in coloration. Somewhat cooler weather brings out the intensity in colors, but we are supposed to dip into the low- to mid-forties. Fine if we bounce back, but not if we are headed for a cold fall. Still, the rain has made for a great growing season this fall so far.
