Hi fawnridge,

Glad you posted this...I was wondering the same thing? I have been checking this forum for over two hours, thinking they were doing some maintenance on this forum only, since all the other forums are all up and running without any issues. Is there someone we can email to have them check into this problem?

Very interesting...makes you wonder if we've been hacked or if yesterday's political references caused a problem, or if there is just something amiss at GW. Has anyone written the powers that be? Kate usually does that when there are issues, but she is out of town.

They still grow along the Sunnhill Restoration levee. Granted, that's not a roadside, but it's still there. Mine.. or at least my Maypop (the native) got burned by that last bad frost a couple weeks ago and is just now coming back from root. So the ones in the wild might be similarly recouping.

Applewood Annie, bless your heart for remembering me. I'm still around, though since I lost my DH last summer my time for checking in on GW has not been the same. Used to be that I popped in every single day - sometimes more than once, but I've no time for that any more, and not so much time for my gardens either I'm sad to say. I've tried to make a promise to myself to photograph the gardens more this year, even if only to help me some day remember the beauty I created around a home I no longer can view as being the place I'll stay the rest of my life, sigh. Sorry to hear about your health problems. What a terrible time you have had! I hope you have some beautiful roses anyway this year - and better days ahead. It's fun to see so many people pop in, but sad when I see the names of some very wonderful people I met here over the last 12 years and now so many of them are lost to us all. That's the nature of this way of relating to people. We only see a small window on someone's life and they can close it and turn their backs at any time, leaving us in the dark as to what happened. That's the trouble; never having the end of the stories...

That's weird. I just went to the gallery and there are 3 paint colors on the first page, 3 - 4 on the second...they are often one word titles, but reds are the last post on the first page right now, and I have linked a post about yellows and gold below. Ricky it's a trick by the McCain/Palin folks.

My hubby is the one who is the real conservative... I just hopped on the Bandwagon (ha- ha -ha). But wait... my grandfather Peter Pauly moved to St Petersburg, in the late 50's. He was the head chef at Hines Hospital in Maywood.

Ok, I need your help here, the people that I know on these various forums can ask me any question that only I or a few people in the world would know.

And I'm such an addict I grabbed a computer to check in this morning! Imagine my shock at seeing... NOTHING! Yikes...

Not sure what the political reference is since I've been off the forum for a few days, but shame on anyone who used this forum for political purposes. I don't care what your political preference is, but don't share it with me. This year especially people are polarized and feel strongly about one side or the other. Just leave it to another part of your life and let's keep this place about gardens and good manners.

I don't have Tamara's email with me but I'll see if I can find someone to get a message to about the postings.

Amen to that, Kate! I put my faith in YOU contacting the right folks. Having spent the last SEVEN weeks in the DANG Comfy Chair, I would go INSANE without being able to check in here for some relief, whether Comic or Educational.

I want our Forum back!!

I went to the Hot Topic forum and they had removed the political topic. So I guess when they removed it here some one goofed and pulled all the topics?

I'm thinking it's something like that, too, Wanda, although from what I saw of the Hot Topics Forum, it looked to me like political topics are fair game, there, and entirely appropriate. Maybe I am confused? I don't mind political topics in the right place, just not here. And to be fair to Lynne, she didn't post her comments here, just an "announcement" that she had posted them on Hot Topics. Don't know if that's allowed here or not, but I'd rather not even THINK about politics here, personally.

OH MY! I came here and felt like I had pulled up into my driveway and my home was gone!

I saw Lynne's "announcement" here yesterday and went to Hot Topics and checked out the post but was unaware anything had gone on here. I agree with Marcia, I'd rather not even think about politics here but to pull EVERTHING over it????????

Okay, if there are other entire forums missing, then it is not related to US or what we have or haven't been discussing, which is a good thing. The bad news is, was it a malicious hacker? Or is it just a GW glitch that they can soon fix? We can only hope! And it would make no sense to intentionally pull the entire board over ANY comment. Wouldn't they just remove the post, as they have done in the past.

This bare, empty board is depressing. I feel just like Nova...I came home, but no one is there. Not even the house! ACK!!! I HATE this! QUICK, somebody...start a new thread!!
