New Daylily Bloom and other Flowers

Inca Puzzle did not bloom during the regular season, but it is blooming now. I appreciate it blooms more since they are so rare now. All American Windmill is blooming again. I have to say it has had blooms over a longer season than anything else.

And they have added so much color to the garden.

Wow, zinnias are fantasic, I miss mine :-(( I see the butterfly there enjoying the zinnias also.

Inca Puzzle is a really pretty red.

Are you sure that pic is Inca Puzzle as I thought is was lavender?

Just a lovely garden, thanks for posting your pics. I have a red that makes a huge clump and it is getting ready to bloom. I don't know what it is because the tag is buried in the clump LOL I never removed it LOL Think I got it from Marietas a few years back. I will post pictures when it blooms. Dot

Many of the old roses we grow are not identified. Years ago Bob read that many old roses were rediscovered and then identified by people looking through old cemeteries. So we went through all the old cemeteries we could in our county. We found some old roses and either dug a sucker or took cuttings and rooted them. Then we tried to identify them. Some we could but most we had no clue what the name could be. Sadly, most of the those roses are gone from those cemeteries with the heavy handed application of roundup to cleanup the grounds. I don't remember where we found this one but we believe it to be the one that grew at my house when I was a kid. My mother and grandmother were irritated because it draped over the walkway at the side of the house and my grandmother always cut it back to the ground every year. One year it didn't come back. This rose was purchased. It is a climber called Alika., This rose was collected from the cemetery where a lot of my relatives are buried. It is no longer there. This rose is called Violette. The flower is quite small. It was not collected either. Here is a Mister Bluebird seedling trying to climb a tree. The red in the front was collected on a roadside. The old roses are lovely and most have a wonderful scent. Unfortunately, the flowers don't last long. It looks like we might have a dip seedling open in about a week. Perhaps they sent the wrong plant? Still a pretty daylily.

Well, it was a lily auction win from last year, so who knows? It didn't bloom this year. I like it very well, but I like to get what I have bid on and paid for. I'll have to look it up.

The zinnias have been nice. They keep my garden with something blooming this time of year and I like to sit and watch the butterflies since between the zinnias and the butterfly bushes, they are always in the yard.

Kay, whatever your daylily is it's a pretty one. Do hope you can find out it's name. Love your zinnias. Think I'll have to try some of those next year.

Kay,That daylily is gorgeous,anyway,even if it Does have a wrong name on it.I just love your zinnia's too.They are all so pretty.Hopefully, next year I will be able to plant me some, and then the darn deer will probably come eat them up,unless I find room in my little fenced in area.

It may not be the right one, but it is beautiful. I think I like it better than Inca Puzzle, but it is frustrating when you don't get what you ordered. Hope you find the right name.
Your zinnias are gorgeous, I MUST plant zinnias next year. I bought seeds this spring but didn't get them planted. I always have good intentions.

Kay, To me it looks like Aeon Flux from Benz. Could that be a possibility?
