Where does all of the time go? Can't keep up with the garden or the forums this year!

I have several pictures to share from the last week, but just can't seem to find the time to get to it. These have been patiently waiting in photobucket, so figured I would at least share them while I try to find time to upload some more.

Paw print has been on my 'list' for awhile now. Nice to know it really looks like that. I like the color and I'm trying to do a cat themed garden too. (I know my inner crazy cat lady is showing.) I think I may have to add incommunicado to my list now too.

Julie, I'm impressed with Paw Print. I usually don't go for the bluish dl but I like this one.. I sure wish my WOW would put on some color. Come to think of it, I wish it would bloom...Incommunicado is a beauty. I haven't seen that one before. Thanks for posting these beauties..Ellie

I have been swamped for the past few days and haven't had time to comment on everything. Still enjoying all the pictures though. Then last night when I did have some time all the forums were on the fritz again, connection problems. So I didsn't get back again until just now.

Thanks all! ngraham - the good news is, VE multiplies like crazy. When she gets it right, the flowers are amazing. farmerbell - I didn't like that seedling when it first opened, but the blooms are getting better, and the bud count and branching are out of this world. In addition, it had instant rebloom this year. PP is my little beauty. Love her. Jessica - can you believe that some of them are just starting their first blooms? I got a bunch that are late and very late, so I could extend my season. Looks like it is working! Stargate Explosion just put up its first scape! Yippee! Nikki - I posted about the photo problem on your Star Child post.... hope it works out! I like PP too! okbt - she is a hardy little bugger... even though I slid down the hill and wiped out all 3 fans last fall, she came back beautifully and gave me quite a show. Love PP. Debra - thanks!! :o) MM is new to my garden (this spring), and is doing so well! Got another bloom this morning. Hoping the colors get just a mite brighter with settling. Gotta do my yoga, then I will try to post those Star Child photos... Thanks for all the kind words.

Thank you all for looking and for your comments. Julia, Dancing Rainbow is taller than its registered height this year. I really don't remember if this is always the case. It is probably in too much shade at this point. The budcount is about 15 and it opens well. Increase has only been about 1 fan a year. Salty Skipper is a great increaser and has a budcount in the 20s. I think it's about its registered height. Love this one. Mantis, Heliotrope Island is also in too much shade. Opens well, but the increase has been slow and the budcount is 9. I'll give it a chance in a better spot, but it may not stay.

Thanks Linda. MS is another of the ones I love...I think the colors are just beautiful.. Chris, MM does not increase very well for me . It just sits. It didn't bloom last year at all and was sparce this year. I thought I would give it another year or two before removing it.. MH blooms were really small this year. Also, it never got to it's correct form. The color is ok but that's about all. It looked better the first year I had it after taking a month to settle in.. Got your number for sure Rita. But you are right! Matt is a very pretty daylily and that helps even a clump.. Thanks for all your responses...Ellie

They all look great. Your WISEST OF WIZARDS has more color than mine did, mine is paler. Lovely shade of hot pink on SISTER LUCIENE.

It's interesting to see you photo of SISTER LUCIENNE. Mine is always a rosy red. I've always wondered if I got the wrong daylily, but it matches all the stats to a tee. Yours looks much more like Shooter's pic. SHADY LADY is one of my favorite oldies, too.

Yes SISTER LUCIENNE is a Shooter intro, and I really like it. We have had record temps (tripple digits in the Seattle area is almost unheard of, and we have had them for two weeks!) and this DL has held it's beautiful color dawn to dusk. Granted, it is in part shade, but I have learned for the first time this year to appreciated something that is still vibrant when I get home from work!
Debra, if your's is redder, I would be thinking that it may not be the right plant, as mine has been one of the more consistant in color of any in my garden.

As for PAW PRINT, I only added it last fall, but from what I have seen so far, if you are thinking about it, GET IT! It's first blooms started before our outrageous temps, but it has still been lovely at the end of the day when it has been very hot, and it is totally packed with blooms. I was terribly afraid that I would not get the watermark in my "cool...ha ha ha" world, but every bloom has been wonderful. I am doing a budcount analysis this year for all of my dl's (Thanks Rita, for the inspiration to really SEE what my plants are doing), and I would bet that even as a first year plant it is in my top 20%.

The pic of WOW was taken early in the am, so the color by evening was much more washed out...it is not a real good "color holder" when the heat is on I am thinking....

I had gotten WOW this year and when it bloomed it was more yellowy color. The seller thought it may be a soil issue but sent me some more of it just to be sure that I got the right one. Your photo is what I expected to see. Next year will be the test when both plantings bloom.

Lovely bloom pics. INCOMMUNICADO looks to have a nice gold edging on it.
