Some rebloom, nothing new

I am still getting some rebloom, mostly from my seedlings.

Way Over Yonder has put up 6 rebloom scapes. Thanks, Chris.

Seedlings that are reblooming.

This next daylily did the weirdest thing. It put up a scape, but instead of buds on it, it made a prolif on the end of the stem and the prolif put up a scape and just started blooming.

I really like this seedling, but scapes are a little short. This is the first year for my seedlings, so I don't know whether scapes can be taller the second year or not.

I think this next one is my favorite seedling. The first picture was taken in shade and my camera makes it look pink, which it is not. It does have a slight rose colored watermark/eye which is barely noticeable in photos. The second picture was taken a few days after the first one and was taken in sun. This color is more accurate. It is on its 2nd rebloom scape.

I hope you found something that made you smile. I am getting depressed without my daylily blooms and consequently I am spending too much time and $$ looking at hybridizers' websites and the LA.

WOY is quite lovely and I adore that purple spidery seedling of yours. The last seedling is pretty too, but that purple one really does it for me tonight. :)
Thanks for the show...and, don't feel like Lone Ranger, I'm spending way to much time and bucks on the LA also. LOL

Jan, I hope we won't both be bidding on the same ones! I don't know your screen name on the LA. Way Over Yonder has done remarkably well. I got it last fall from Chris, and divided it into 2 small clumps of a couple of fans each. I had good bloom earlier, then it rested and now has six revloom scapes, so it should bloom for quite a while.

Thank you so much everyone! I love sharing my garden with you! -dawiff, I believe you are looking at the Rhubarb plant. Isn't it neat? I love the fact that it is edible and decorative. It gets some shade, which I think makes it grow even larger. The blooms are neat too; they are like giant Astilbes. And it looks so alien-like comming out of the ground in spring. -Annie, oh you are wonderful! Thank you for your kind comments, they are very much appreciated. ;-) -Nell, tulips in July! If only I could! I am having trouble finding things to fill the space. I am trying to find an evergreen shrub and a few larger plants to fill the space. I am always at a loss as to what to put in full sun. If this were a shade garden it would already be full, lol! I was thinking of: a late blooming tree Peony in yellow, white, or orange-ish, a gold evergreen shrub, Ironweed, a large perennial geranium, and a large type of Euphorbia. Maybe a rose too, though I am a little wary of roses, since I don't have the best of luck with them sometimes. I also want to put some focal point there, like an obelisk or statue. What do you guys think of those plants? Have any other suggestions? Oh! I forgot to post this pic. I like this one. I had a row of Iris here, but took them out and replaced them with large rocks to finish the pathway. It looks so much better. CMK

Mantis and Julia - I think Skullduggery is only registered as having 15-16 buds. Mine, still in a pot, only has 6-8 buds per scape this year. I don't think I've ever had more than 15 buds per scape, and that was probably in the first year I had it. In the past, it's been a very reliable rebloomer. Being in a pot for several years, it has not multiplied very quickly. I have a lot - especially early bloomers - with very poor bud counts this year. We got NO rain to speak of in April, which is the opposite of what usually happens. I started watering my seedlings and the two beds by my seedling regularly in early May. The daylilies in those have much better bud counts than those I only watered a couple of times in May. Jean and Anika - Glitter Gal is a nice one. It is not diamond dusted. Where it glitters is the edge. It has a double edge - gold wire - that does glitter - and a fluffy white and gold edge with some tendrils and knobs. It can melt on a 95-degree day unless it's kept well-watered. It does fade somewhat, but still has a pleasant lavender color at the end of the day. It multiplies very quickly. Debra

Thank youJulia. Oh how I wish I could send you ALL of this heat. Its right at 7PM and its still 97 outside,and I have to get off here awhile and go water ,as some are still in pots,so have to watch them close,and as hot as it is,everything is dry and needs a drink. MARYLRITA. Thank you for your suggestion.I had not thought about that, but you are right and I will try not to forget, too.I can't remember names of each one either,is why I keep a little note pad by my keyboard,and when I see a bloom I want to comment on,I write the name on my notepad,so I don't have to keep back tracking to see 'WHAT WAS THE NAME OF IT?"I remember alot of the names, but,might not be the one I want to comment on.so I appreciate your suggestion. now I have to go outside awhile in that blistering heat and do some watering. BEAUTIFUL EDGINGS is a beauty. I love it. and your BUTTERED POPCORN is very nice, too.Mine didnt bloom at all this year and keeps shrinking.Last year it only had maybe half dozen blooms, but the year before it was a pretty one.Not a drop of rain here,and everything is suffereing, even tho I am watering every day, its just not enough. and we back in the furnace heat again with 95 right now, out and heat index is 102. suppose to be 100 plus tomorrow and feel like 110 they said. not looking forward to it at all. I had to go out and wait on the mail man this morning to get a letter mailed,and it was so hot out. He was only a hour and half late today., but better then 3 hrs late like the substitute we had monday. I almost got sick out there waiting for him. jean

Ann, Many of my 2007 seedlings are 2-3 inches taller this year...so hang on to that peach seedling of yours...it's a beauty!

Ann, I love all of the seedlings but especially the last one and of course the purple. Nice going for a first timer. Actually, I have been at it for several years and you definitly have me beat..Ellie

Wow, Ann, I really like the way Way Over Yonder looks with that violet flower behind it. Nice color coordination!

Nice seedlings Ann, keep up the good work. I didn't get any rebloom on my seedlings and have NO flowers left now. Almost all of my pods are picked so I'm really bored now. All thats left is watering YUCK.

NE 7-2 is real beauty! And, yes, the scapes often get taller in subsequent years. How nice that you are getting some rebloom on your seedlings!

Great seedlings! I would give them another year to see if their scapes get taller. I've read they normally are short the first year. Just lovely!
