Got an order from the Lily Auction today! OMG! Could not believe the size and freshness of the plants I got. Ordered from Bnich. If you havent ordered from them I think you may be missing out!

I have seven plants from Bnich that will arrive in the fall, can hardly wait, and your description of the plants you received makes me very happy, for I am sure I will have the same. I really like doing business with Bonnie, this is the first time, and it's been a real pleasure. Avedon

I just ordered more plants tonight through her website Oak Hill daylilies. I sent an email about availability this evening and got a response already. Was sent a Paypal invoice atlong with my reply. She is digging and shipping my plants next week! I will post a follow-up when i get the net batch!

I also succomed to toms creations, didn't spend to much i thought? I bout a bright clear pink\fushia blend SPUF form. Really nice tried to go back and find a pic, but i think they pulled the auction pic already? He sent the seedling, a clump of PINK SUPER SPIDER, and RUBY SPIDER along with all for about 45 bucks. Well I've been reading all that's been posted about the problem. Believe it or not my very first auction win went alot like you folks problem. Even before I bid I asked if the plant could be sent asap as I wanted to get it into the ground in Sept. so it could settle in before winter. I was told as a MO would speed up the process, so I bid, won and sent out payment by Priority Mail. Check with the PO and it was delivered in 2 days. 2 weeks later I emailed to ask when plant would be shipped. No answer. 2 weeks later emailed again. Same response. 6 weeks after winning the plant recieved an email that plant was shipped. Plant never came. Emailed no plant showed after 1 week and get another that it was shipped again. No plant again. 2 months after win emailed that they may as well winter it over and I'd stop otw home from the South and get it. Still no answer. Heck even got their phone number and never got anything but a machine. Emailed Mike my sent emails and asked him to help see what was going on. Did the seller receive my emails and told him about the long delay, emails stating plant was shipped and no plant showed. Oh and the excuse I got was they were too busy planting seeds before the weather got too hot! Long story short this pissed off the seller (roflao)and I got a refund with a letter stating how I'd never be able to grow daylilies (heh I grew up farming LOL), I was a stupid new daylily person that didn't know anything about daylilies and he wouldn't ever ship any plants as it was too late in Nov. and I'd have a big hole in the Spring and want my plant replaced. (yea I wouldn't never of thought the plant could survive this. Then they ended the letter with don't bid on any more of my auctions. Oh yea...like I would do that! Was I upset...you bet. Did I let it eat on me for long. Heck no...life is too short. You just have to figure that you sow what you reap. They will get their just reward. *-) I'd suggest that you move on from all the negative and work with Mike. You'll be alot happier and less stressed out. *-) Well as it turns out I bid on more fans of the same plant for less money. See sometimes things happen for a reason! We've been all around this sellers garden visiting others and we spent thousands of dollars with other gardens, but they won't ever get a dime from us even if they are priced 1.00 for new intros! Now as a new seller on the LA we've had 3 auctions not paid for. See the shoe fits on both feet. Mad yes..but we just added them to the banned bidder list along with the problem seller as he does buy also on the LA. Bottom line...be patient and let Mike do his job. It worked for me and I have complete faith he will get your money refunded. There are so many good sellers on the LA. The best way is to know is by the amount of bids on ones plants, then look for feedback that reads great plants, extra fans, fast shipping...things like this. Add that together and you will get a pretty good idea. Unless it's a newer seller if there are many auctions for a seller up and very few/no bids on them...the red flag should go up. I like Carla's idea. Having only registered users from the LA to join would be great. We just don't have the time to help her though. 8-( Our 2 cents.

Folks....This is getting a bit of hand. One has to think if some people have nothing better to do than to make mountains out of molehills. Some of you who responded, have clearly not even read my post. If you don't read, please don't make a reply to it. In fact, I never stated that I consulted an attorney. I just said that an attorney has been consulted. And I wanted to point out that if you damage a person's livlihood as a result of unsubstantiated slander, you can be held accountable. Be careful what you say. This is not a threat of lawsuit, just some good advice. It is easy to state your 'experience' here with no facts to verify that what you say is true. Had you complained to us we would have the facts of what the item was and what was said in the description, etc. Any negative comments made here, without facts to back it up, is just worthless prattle. If you have a complaint, do something substantial and use our feedback protocol. I will explain this later. Let me say it once again: No one has the right to stifle the FACTS. That is never the intention in any of my posts. It is the damaging assumptions and implications that have been made that have INDEED damaged Marvin....implications and even statements MADE PUBLICALLY, that he was deliberatly trying to rip people off...WHICH IS CLEARLY NOT THE CASE. There was a lack of communication to his buyers, yes, and a couple of mistakes. This is very different than what some were saying. Most of this misunderstanding and mis-information can be avoided if people would simply follow the Lily Auction Feedback protocol: 1) Contact the seller first if you have a dispute. 2) If no response or inadequate response given by seller, then do contact us. 3)If you are not happy with the result of the above 2, then leave FACTUAL negative feedback. And know that if a seller is proven to be abusive or negligent in fulfilling orders, they will be suspended from the Lily Auction. This feedback system is already in place and works just fine if people would use it as it was meant to be used. Steve, thanks for your comments and sanity. I understand your "head scratching" though. Here is how I understand the legalities, in layman's language: Emotional, defamatory or judgmental feedback can be considered libelous. Comments like: 'Seller sent bad plants & 'ignored' my emails" is different from saying 'I was not happy with plants and got no reply from my many emails' which is factual. Comments like, 'this seller is a crook and is deliberately ignoring me' is clearly libelous. If you have any doubt about what is libelous, then you should ask attorney. If your comments are factual, you do not have to worry. Also, a seller may never respond negatively to a buyer unless the buyer does not pay or is verbally abusive. Moreover, retaliatory feedback is NOT allowed. So buyers should feel free to leave honest and factual feedback without fear of retaliation. Please folks, if you still feel that the Lily Auction is a good place to shop then please use our feedback system as it was meant to be used. Looks like a couple of you don't like it. That is your prerogative. But don't blame anyone but yourself for not using the feedback system if you did not report a bad experience. One person stated that 'Daylily people' are not 'nice' people. Boy, if anything is the exact opposite of the truth, this statement was. Generally, daylily people are wonderful. I have met some of the nicest people in the world through daylilies....through the Lily Auction, other venues, and conventions. There are definitely exceptions though, as with anything else. I can tell you with absolute confidence, that it it only 1/10th of 1% that are problems. Certainly fraud of any kind must be exposed and not tolerated. But this was not a case of fraud. Marvin must reconcile his mistakes, and he is doing just that, and he must also take responsibility for his lack of communication. My experience with him is that he is a humble man, overwhelmed with orders this spring, and on the verge of tears to me on the phone about this whole incident. I see no reason why we cannot both hold him responsible, which he clearly does himself, as well as treat him with kindness. I don't see this as a matter of either/or. Hi, I've been following the auction for the seedling and was very surprised by the amount it sold for. I miss out on a lot of the daylily news except for here, and I'm glad to hear that the buyer was good for the amount. I wonder if they're going to introduce it or use it for breeding. It does look like it has clear coloring on it. I also wanted to let Avonlady know that there's a daylily called 'Shattered' that is supposed to be very striped. I haven't seen any mention of it on the lily auction for quite a while, though. I do remember the photo showed it being nicely marked. I liked its parent 'Broken Promise' too but it didn't have a lot of striping on it. They're both tetraploids. Of course I can't find any photos on them, and also it isn't mentioned in the AHS daylily search that they're striped. There's also a diploid called 'Pink Stripes" and it shows up a lot more on the lily auction. Marbree

I just bought from Bonnie directly. Her own website has 30% off right now. I can't remember till what date, though. I bought Gossard's Wolverine...it was "happy birthday to me!" At least it was on sale! I am about 90 miles from her, so I plan to go over to their garden next spring.

Jean, you betcha! I have done alot of that this season and have 4 more coming. Gotta stop now, they need to establish before it gets too cold. Wow, bummer thinking about cold.

I was kind of conservative on lily auction. Got Laura Harwood, Orchid Corsage and Peacock Maiden. Have to stay on my budget right now. My favorites from your list are Bourbon Street and Victorian Lace. The toothy ones are growing on me. I am waiting for Bark at Me, Happy Apache and Beaufort Slim Pitkins. Got bark at me as a tribute to my dogs!

Sherry, the lily auction is a wonderful place to get plants at good prices. I "won" White Eyes Pink Dragon from Bnich yesterday, and I am very happy about it. she sends good plants, and her bonus is extra fans if available, my favorite bonus. congratulations on your plants. Don't do what I do...get bored, go on the auction with no intention to buy, and see one I have been dying to get...oh well, a bid won't hurt....just one. un-huh. Can't wait to see photos....Laura Harwood is a beauty, you will love it. I had it new this year.

Kay, know what you mean about "just looking". Got myself in trouble twice doing that this summer. I have bought from 4 different sellers on the auction so far. Bnich is definitely my favorite so far with blue Ridge a close second. The other 2, well, I have to let next season tell me what the verdict is. Such a variety available, its great! Still have 8 stellas in my yard. Started the season with about 15. Gotta make room for my new beauties.

I also "won" three from Bonnie on the LA--Sunny Intervals, Lillian's Crazy Arms and Stealth Bomber. Then I decided I needed more, so I ordered from the summer sale--Ada May Musick, Katherine Caldwell, Springfield Clan, Stargate Portal and Wild and Wonderful. I had to get Stargate Portal after I saw the beautiful pictures Celeste posted of it. Wild and Wonderful is listed as Sold Out, but Bonnie went out and checked and said she had one DF she could sell to me. She is just so accommodating, a great person to deal with. I agree with you about her and Bob Selman, both so good to do business with. Avedon

Sherry, My beds kept growing as I added daylilies. I am trying to downsize a little, but it isn't happening. WEPD was a good buy like the other two I had lusted after, so I am happy to get them. Keep on, you'll be surprised how quickly you will discover room. eight Stellas? Oh yeah, you have space. You will soon be down to two most likely. My last one went four or five years ago.

Our new DLS will have plenty of spaces to choose from. We have people coming in tomorrow to dig out a bunch of our old daylilies. We are eliminating most duplicates and just any we don't like. Really looking forward to all new ones. We will also be getting Crazy Miss Daisy, Orange Spice, Lillian's Thin Ice, and Dragonfly Dawn from a seller in Florida. I love planting in fall, for the DLS usually have time to establish before winter, and then they do very well when the new season starts.

Avedon, i have done alot of removal myself this season. As Kay says, i still have 8 stellas to take care of! Happy planting! I hope we both have good results next season. Cant wait to see all of the pictures next season!
