Two new blooms today (pics)

FFO on LAST CHANCE FOR ROMANCE a 2008 intro by Jim Murphy. Needs to improve. I expect it will be really nice next year, the pictures on the website are quite lovely. Has only two flowers on the stalk so there will not be much of a show this year. I am lucky I got to see at least the one flower.

FINAL DESTINATION a late bloomer from Karol Emmerich. Lots more flowers on the stalk but this one was just ready to open much sooner than the others coming along.

Whew, those are some beauties for sure. I can definately see the promise in LAST CHANCE FOR ROMANCE. Looks like it will have a beautiful watermark!! Perfect. I am not much for peaches, but FINAL DESTINATION really has such nice texture and form. Unreal for a Late. Congrats!!

I have as yet to see an intro from Karol that I don't like. Her's are all just gorgeous.
Is LCFR a large one....it looks huge, and I think it's going to be fantastic once it settles in for you.

I am glad that everyone liked Susan Elinor. The website below shows the picture from the hybridizer and how I hope it eventually looks in my garden. It is the amazingly beautiful pink daylily with the gold edge in the center of the collage. I went to my first meeting of the Middle TN Daylily Society in March when Guy and Karen Pierce were guest speakers. They were so generous and promised everyone in attendance a gift plant. These plants were shipped so that they were available at the April meeting. That is how I got Bart Roberts. I just can't believe how generous they were! Bart is a real beauty in the garden. Dot.. I currently have DREAM CANDY, SHERRY CANDY and PRECIOUS CANDY blooming.. and have been for the past few days.. still no sigh os SPECIAL CANDY but I am happy.. BRIDLEY GREESON has been a bit of a disappointment - althoug it has nice blooms and sets pods for me.. it is a snail when it comes to increasing! Ellie... I have BAT MASTERSON, VELVET EYES, EBONY EYES and CHERRY BURST.. they are all the same size so I often wonder why I keep them all.. but the colors are very different to me.. BAT is rusty orange, VELVET is dark purple, EBONY is even darker purple and CHERRY is dark pink.. gotta love diversity..lol I just got in from the garden and am cooling off.. I have a TON of pictures to share today.. now to find time to upload them!!! Shelly

yes.. the parentage of the first is (Shinto EtchingsXShaka Zulu)x(West Coast BluesxDivine Magic) and the second is Duchess of Diamonds x Bella Sera I'm going to keep taking pictures of their blooms to compare with today's.. but hoping that they both do as well in the hot sunshine. Shelly

No, its really not that big, only 5 inches. The form makes it look big. Its a dip too. I like the fact that its Very Late and I love the color and form of the flower.

Its amazing the way her (Karrol Emmerich) intros are one gorgeous flower after another, isn't it? I am DEFFINATELY going to be putting in an order this fall for more Emmerich intros to send in the spring.

Oh Rita, I had to go out and check on my Last Chance for Romance after seeing yours. Boohoo, I don't think it will bloom this year, but I just got it in June.

Love seeing pictures, especially these late ones! Can't wait for next year...you'll have lots to show us!

I didn't think mine would bloom this year when I got it, tiny little bitty plant. But its nice and healthy and growing. I think it will be one stunner of a daylily when its settled in. Very late to boot. Can't beat that.

I got all excited when I actually had some blooms to take pictures of. But nothing else right now until those rebloom scapes on the Emmerich intros start blooming. But I do have blooms to look forward to.

Another bloom today on FINAL DESTINATION. Looks just like the one I already posted. Looks like they are going to be cookie cutter perfect blooms that look like they should be in some fancy daylily catalog.

Very pretty. I really like Final Destination--I just love that form and am very fond of watermarks as well. And you certainly can't complain if all of it's blossoms are just as beautiful!
