Chris. That is most likely because I was having a few problems with my neck, and taking a medication I was not accustomed to taking...resulting in my being less sharp than usual if possible. Anyway, have Inca Prince which has not yet bloomed. What I identified as Inca Prince was in fact Imperial Inca. What can I say? so sorry. kay

Sorry it has taken me a while to get back and check in. I was out of town for work and just got home. Thanks so much everyone for the compliments. It makes me feel good, I must admit. I always seem to see what needs to be done, and sometimes forget to look at what it is! I will try to answer everyone's questions. Hope I don't miss any. In no particular order... The lilies in the "big" picture are almost all daylilies. The lilies in the close-up pictures I am not sure. Just some bulbs I picked up, probably at a big box store or the local garden center? Sorry I don't have their names. The rose pictured in the 4th picture is Morden Belle. There are actually 3 bushes planted in that bed. I hope that is the rose you meant? Yes, I do have the courtyard of roses and yes they are blooming. However, many of the roses on the fence were taken down this year due to RRD. I have planted bittersweet in their place. Won't be the beautiful flowers, but will provide privacy that won't get RRD. As you can see from the picture below, the fence is now pretty bare looking on the side. I have decided that I will try to keep the roses on the fence across the end and around the corner. The need for privacy there is not so great, as the Wine and Roses weigela in the island bed does screen most of the garden from that end. Again, thank you everyone! I think it's a few different reasons. For one, this is a new garden, most items are two years old or less, so I have no large drama plants, no show-stoppers. Plus I don't think I have a strong overall sense of design. I don't do rivers of color or drifts, i.e., nothing that is really attention getting. I think I have a ok sense of what works with plant combos, but to see it, you really have to be standing in the garden, which most visitors don't do. Also, I have tended to chose plants that most people aren't familiar with. It took me 5 years to decide I should have a rhododendron in my garden, just because there is one in every yard in the neighborhood, so I didn't think I wanted one. We have a very friendly neighborhood and people take walks by my house all the time when I am out weeding or planting, but no-one has ever stopped to ask what a plant is or to make a comment. I have two little kids and have moms over regularly for playdates, but we will almost never talk about the garden. My Mom and Dad are gardeners and I have one mom-friend who gardens, so it's always fun to visit with them, but other than that, I have to get my garden conversations here on the forum. Victorian Days. My favorite one! I love the colors on this one. This shot however is darker due to a chilly morning ( actually more of a mauve color). It does not do it justice.

Fantastic! thanks for postimg these. I have to say that Botticelli, Cameroons, and Etosha Flame are my favorites and will have to go on my list. Your picture of Victorian Days is perfect :)

We haven't had a Munson thread in a while. Jan, TweetyPie who posted here until she started traveling with her husband, had a tremendous number of Munson's, and she would usually be the one who started the thread.

Lexington Avenue is extremely vigorous. It's not particularly well budded, and like most Munsons, not very sunfast, but it looked very good this year (lots of overcast days).Cherry Chapeau has not been vigorous here. Cameroons is a very good plant and more sunfast than many Munsons. Devil's Magic, which you posted earlier, is very dark, but not well budded here. Also needs some shade.

Like Mantis I've found that many Munson's have low budcounts here. This one has been an exception and is well budded. I do think many of them are beautiful. Which ones have high budcounts for you?

Really nice pictures everyone! I agree that alot of mine don't have the best bud counts but the beautiful flowers keep them here :) I never actually count buds, but I can say my best budded are- Davinci Gold, Damascan velvet, Canton Harbor, Manhattan Night, Devi's Magic, and by far the best - Ruffles Elegant. I never got a good picture of that this year however. The one bad quality to it though is that it has too many buds! It is not well branched and the flowers get hooked up on them alot.

They are beautiful.
I only have two, Court Magician and Ruffled Lemon Piping. CM doesn't open well, but when it does it is very pretty. Oh, also have Russian Rhapsody.
