We love the daylily blooms. I like the sunflower too. I usually plant sunflowers here each spring, this is the first time in years I haven't had any. They are such happy flowers plus the goldfinches just love them :-))

Your daylilies still good great. Its always nice to be surprised by more bloom than you expected. My favorite here is ARCTIC BLAZE.

Love your picture of Painting the Town red. Orchid Corsage is always a pretty one, isn't it? Mine had its last bloom a couple of days ago.

It's good to see that others are still getting some bloom this time of year. Before you know it it'll be time for games of Alphabet Soup to get our daylily fix through the autumn and winter months.

My favorite here is KIWI MAGIC. That's one of favorite color combos. Very nice pics....thanks for sharing them.

It's amazing this year as to what is still blooming. I expect some to be late bloomers but so many still going.
Sombrero Way, Kiwi Magic, Frans Hals, Princeton Eye Glow, Autumn Wood are normally late bloomers.
The heat has broken here and the storms have cooled us down a bit. The rain was delightful and I didn't think I would ever say that this year.
Rita: I had sunflowers last year and kept some seeds when the flowers dried and replanted this year. Some took and others didn't.

Very nice blooms,, I really like Kiwi Magic. My Delicately Yours bloomed out some time ago. Your pics are great, and the sunflower is a nice addition, they just seem like happy flowers.

Goldfinches go nuts for sunflowers. They start eating the seeds before they are even fully ripe. This year they have had to make due with only the purple coneflowers, zinnias and cosmos (all of which they eat the seeds of). I save some seeds too and often I just transplant volunteers from were I don't want them to were I do. But I pulled out the volunteers in the daylily beds this year and never did get any others started.

Love ARCTIC BLAZE and DOUBLE RIVER WYE looks so unique! I don't think I've seen anything like it.

Love ARTIC BLAZE and the UNKNOWN SEEDLING. I have always had sunflowers every year too,except for this year and last year.The squirrels eat up the seeds before they ready here.The same with a young Pecan tree here.By the time the pecans should be ready to harvest,none is left because of the squirrels.They start on them when they still small and eat holes in them,and see they not good,and drop them on the ground.

DOUBLE RIVER WYE was a gift plant. I wouldn't have chosen it but it seems to have pulled out of its first few bloom funk from earlier this summer with not doubling correctly.
I too like ARCTIC BLAZE and have been trying to cross it with WILD IRISH pollen. No luck so I'm wondering if it is not pod fertile. I have one more chance today.

I expected new ones this year to bloom off cycle as I see that several Spacecoast ones I planted this spring are sending up scapes but the scapes are short as was the one that just started blooming on PAINTING THE ROSES RED.

The yellow finches are already eyeing the sunflowers.

Well today I pick up my Hanson purchase from Grace Gardens and hopefully get it in the ground before the next round of thunderstorms roll through.
