USF festival

I just found out about the USF festival in October. Can anyone tell me more about it? I will driving a distance to get there and want to make sure it is worth the drive. I can only go on Sunday. Is it pretty picked over on the second day? Does anyone know of a plant swap close to The Villages (30miles South of Ocala)? Thanks

I think it is worth the drive. They have plenty of plants on Sunday but sometimes really "hot" plants might be gone. remember that the sale runs 10-3. I always think it should run later in the day. Sometimes at the end of the day sellers are willing to cut prices so they don't have to haul it home.
And just for you general information: they have very little food (hot dogs) so keep that in mind. It is also nice to bring a wagon or something to haul your plant. They do, however, have a holding area and they have carts to get you to your car w/ plants if you are willing to wait.

I saw Agastache for the first time ever at a small nursery near my house this summer. It is widely used north of here but I can't say I've ever seen it growing in the Tampa Bay Area. Recently (about 8 weeks ago) I purchased some starter plants of Agastache 'Black Adder' online from Santa Rosa Gardens. Right away I had to cut it back as it was too tall and falling over. It has bloomed like crazy for me in about 5 hours of sun. The buzzing critters love it. I would say the jury is still out for me on this one. The biggest test is our humidity. So many plants can take the heat but not the humidity. If it re-blooms through the fall and I don't lose it to frost I'll probably recommend it at that point. Meems

Also. for those who didn't know. If you are a member of a botanical garden , such as Selby, you can use your reciprocal membership benefit to get in to the show for free, as well as you can get in the 30 minutes early as a member. I was able to get in 20 minutes early and scored some cool plants before the crowds.

Someone will undoubtedly be selling Patchouli at the USF Fall Festival, which is... THIS WEEKEND! WOO-HOO!!!! But heck man, I saw Patchouli at the Target garden center a couple of months ago. You never know. You all inspired me. I went out to my neglected patchouli plant and took some cuttings, and they are looking good. I need some more plants, cause want to try some different things... ground up Patchouli leaves in candles, soap, etc. I feel creative. And if anyone in Tampa wants a plant, I may have one to spare :) Peace, people
