All are spoken for. One person has not sent me thier address yet. That went fast.

My FLASH FORCE had a prolif on it,and the scape had turned brown when I seen it down in the leaves,so I cut it off and have it rooting in water.The last prolif I had,I planted it,and it died,so trying it in water,this time.

Jean, I think that this daylily must really like to make prolifs. It made them last year and I have them again this year. In fact, I remember last year I had a prolif on it that actually bloomed on the mother plant. I had never seen that before.

I really hated to take the row of them out of there, they bloomed later than the ones around (in back) of them. They looked really nice and gave me lots of bloom. But I am so tight for space now that I decided to move those Hibards there. This way I reuse existing space.

I'm not acquainted with PARADISE CITY, but I love FLASH FORCE! It's one of the last to bloom here (rebloom actually), and it consistently reblooms year after year. And it always prolifs here too. Prolifs are wonderful to share with a friend, and that's how I acquired FLASH FORCE. Whoever you sent it to Rita, will love it!

Tinkers doen't mention that Flash Force is a rebloomer in its info, it is so nice to hear personal experience sometimes. Of course, I know that location affects rebloom & even color sometimes. Such a pretty daylily!

Another personal experience with FLASH FORCE is that its color is variable with temperature. A cool springtime bloom will look more like this:

There you go. It does have a very nice eye, and with all the interest in diploid eyes, I think it has a lot to offer to a hybridizer.

FLASH FORCE never rebloomed for me yet. It does love to make prolifs. I have some now on the big clump I kept for myself.

Not saying this just because I was giving them away but I thought it is a very pretty daylily with an interesting eye pattern. I always noticed that the pattern was more pronounced when the weather was warmner. Plus those ones I was offering went like hot cakes.

Yesterday the prolif I have on my last FLASH FORCE clump actually bloomed. I remember that I had a blooming prolif on FLASH FORCE last year.

I looked at the scape and one side of the stem is brown while the other side is still green. This is a nice sized prolif, it already looks like a small daylily plant. I looked but its not growing roots yet. Usually I cut my prolifs after I see roots starting to develop. Don't know what to do here as I want to save this prolif to make a new plant.

If my prolifs don't have roots already, I put them in water. You'll see roots in just a day or 2. I think as quickly as they root, you would do as well just to put directly in some potting soil & they would be fine. Might even be better to do that, some people say that roots formed in water die off & the plant has to make new roots anyway. I have a bunch of prolifs on Tuscawilla Blackout this year. The scapes are still a bit green so I have been leaving them on. The prolifs are quite large though, & some don't have roots yet. I may try a couple each way & compare.

I've had very good luck just putting the larger prolifs directly into the soil beside the mother plant. I've also had good luck rooting the smaller ones in water then planting in soil. I've got lots of prolifs this year, on lots of different plants.
I have one that bloomed too. It's on Jester's robe and I plan on planting it directly beside 'mom' plant after I harvest the pod from it's scape.
Hopefully it will root and so will yours.

Kim- Your method is what I ususlly use. I wait for it to develop roots and then I stick it inground next to the mother plant. Usually it works and I have another daylily fan in my clump. This time, I would like to be able to make sure I root this one as I would like to send it to wishnforspring as I never received their e-mail asking for one of the FLASH FORCES and they missed out.

As you girls talk about prolifs.I have 9 from PROFIT
and 7 from SO LOVELY planted in pots.Some had roots
some did not they look good.I used rootone on the
ons without roots.I was always told to not say thank
you for flowers,if you did they would not live.HA HA.

I am one that can not stand the thought of putting perfectly good daylilies in the compost pile. I am happy to give them away so that the daylilies have wonderful new homes. Thanks all for the thankyous. Enjoy the daylilies.

I will be sutting the prolif as soon as I see some roots to put in water. If I don't see roots sooon, I will just cut it anyway.

I had 2 prolif's on one scape of American Revolution when I bought it at a local garden. The scape started dying and still no roots on the prolifs. I didn't feel like finding my rooting compound, so I just cut them off and stuck them in the ground next to the mother plant. They have lived. We did get alot of rain after I had done that so, lots of water.

When I bought the clump of American Revolution I had forgot I already ordered it and was waiting for a shipment. So now I have lots of fans and really didn't need to save the prolifs LOL.

The guys doing the stonework broke the prolif off when they backed the big truck up the driveway today to load up their tools and junk. So I have it stuck in water here on my kitchen counter. I did see a root starting already even before sticking it in water,

Note to myself, no projects being done during daylily bloom season next year for fear they would knock blooms off the hillside daylilies.

At least you noticed the prolif was broke. I didn't notice the DH ran over half of one of my clumps with the riding mower until I went to weed 2 days later.

I made him buy me a push mower with a bagger. He's not allowed to mow around the dl beds any longer.

Timber I think that calls for getting more daylilies too. To alleviate the trauma of seeing it squashed, LOL. Something expensive I think.
