Daylilies of a different sort

Nothing happening in the garden. No daylily pics today.

7 years ago my wife got involved in stain glass. Here is a few daylilies that she did around the house.

We have two windows on either side of a fireplace in what we call a sunroom.

The front bumper of my car.

Not a daylily, but a window panel she did for a neighbor.

She does a beautiful job! I am a fellow stained glass artist, it's always fun to see the work of others!

Love the mosaic license plate, too!

Beats me Sherry. I was hoping someone would tell ME. Some sort of Polyantha, of the Orleans line???? I am open to suggestions. This is a semi-old neighborhood, in an old town (tho the house doesn't appear to be old) in Northern California. I know plants were traditionally shared around, there -- but someone had to "make" this, right? I'd bet money the homeowners don't know, but if I ever see them, I'll surely ask. Jeri

Oh boy! Now you all opened a can of worms..lol Just beautiful Howard, Nik and Paul! I never saw orchids like that before and I am always reading up on them every day...I have about 40. Different types of daylilies

I have a stella d'ora that will rebloom if I'd think to deadhead it. I am familiar with the wild orange daylilies you find along the road..some people refer to them as "ditchlilies" I looked at my Oakes daylily catalog this afternoon and saw and recognized the names of some from GW members photos..Do those daylilies bloom for long periods of time or just one day? I think that is what confuses me, and I keep thinking, why go to all the work to plant something that only blooms for 1 day. I know that Starglazer was a different type of lily, and then there is that beautiful orange lily that its blooms sort of face downward(is that consider a trumpet lily?)All these daylilies, do you have to wait for their foliage to die back , like tulips and daffs? I know that a lot of people seem to collect one of each variety, as well as Iris. Some of those bulbs must be rare because they are very expensive.

I used a recipe off the web: http://home.pacbell.net/lpoli/page0003.htm#DRY (the coppa product) Didn't use sodium nitrate in the Prague powder just sodium nitrite and added minced garlic instead of garlic powder. Chucked in some pimento, nutmeg and cinnamon for a trial. Got the skin from a mate of mine who runs a smallgoods factory but butchers will have them. Used a pork neck and flavoured the outside with black pepper/glucose mix I think to get the lactic acid formation. No sign of 'green' which is a good sign and it smells OK. Was very particular re hygiene (That's the old Food Technologist coming out) Maybe I'll do one for Marysville.(There are plenty of toilets in the houses - just joking)

Tom tell your wife the windows/panel she made are beautiful.
You sure have a unique and probably 'one of a kind' bumper. The trim is very pretty, also.

Yes my wife is home Jan.

I finally got something good to eat.

We have had 2 rain days in the last week.

Life is good once more.
