How about Pine Belt Perfection
6.5 inch flowers. They were huge flowers and bud count was magnificent. It is registered at 16 inch scapes but the one I saw this weekend was taller than that. I'd guess 22 inches. She had it for sale and I tell you what, it came home with me for sure.

I have Hudson Valley - which is huge and beautiful. Mine is all yellow but internet pictures show a bit of green in the throat.

I love Hyperion - decent size, great yellow, tall, not a spider but a loose form. Cheap.

I have Sunday Morning, which is unreal, it is so vigorous. It is yellow but has a greenish throat. The link I gave is from the people who sold it to me - mine is NOT that golden.

I can recommend Chicago Sunrise, it ALWAYS performs really well, it is described as egg yolk yellow and produces loads of flowers. The flowers are old fashioned lily-shaped and about 6" diameter. I have had it for 4 years now and this year has surprised me by producing a darker eye--really lovely. Previously it has been self-coloured.

It is a very rich yellow here, maybr too gold for what you require, but colours in daylilies tend to be more saturated in Britain due to the weaker uv rays.

Cottage Gardens (where I'm ordering from) doesn't have the ones you all suggested. Well, they do have chicago sunrise, but it is listed as a light orange so I don't want to take my chances.
Hyperion is closest to what I'm looking for.

I spent about 5 hours yesterday at an AHS display garden. (Yes, you got that right....five hours!) The owner sells from her collection of about 1800 daylilies, so I came home with a long list of potential buys, but ONLY one pot -- what self-control! I've sworn that, this year, I will not buy a single yellow daylily. So, these, from my list, are merely mental reminders....or so I tell myself LOL.

Here are the ones I particularly liked that seem to match most closely what you're looking for (I liked many lemons, creams, golds & short ones, so this list is much shorter than my own):

BRIDGETON BASTION -- an early-mid bloomer from Darrel Apps. Registration info says it's "mustard yellow," but to my primitive eyes, it's a nice, bright yellow.

FERENGI GOLD -- an older one I still don't have. Don't let the name fool you; it's a lovely polychrome w/ a real glow. Wonderful daylily. 'Tho does not meet your height requirement.

SENECA VALLEY -- Yes, it's registered as lemon yellow, but it's a wonderful daylily.

SILOAM FRISBEE -- I like this one, but it is short.

SILOAM GRADY LAMB -- light yellow with a large flower.

I broke down last weekend (different place - not the display garden) and bought one that I think you should consider:

CARTWHEELS -- a real oldie (1956) registered as a deep yellow. It's tall, it's dormant, it's stood the test of time, and IMO the flowers have a way cool form. Note that it's also a Stout Silver Medal winner, so that tells you something.

In fact, I've been incredibly good about not buying yellows this year, but CARTWHEELS was such an eye-catcher in the field that I had to have it.

More yellows I like:

HYPERION SUPREME -- another oldie. Definitely not fashionable....but very cheery.

Speaking of which, what about HYPERION? Can't go wrong there.

MARY TODD is registered as "buff yellow." In my garden, it looks like plain 'ole yellow to me.

If more names come to mind, I'll post 'em here later....

OK, it's later LOL. How about some from Curt Hanson? BE HERE NOW's a good one. I don't know what you mean by "not pricy," but I see it for sale from Dan Hansen at $25/clump.

NOTIFY GROUND CREW -- yellow and tall. Very, very tall LOL.

Look through his registered daylilies, as there are many yellows. Some are still expensive, many are described as lemon or gold or whatever, but you might find some candidates.

Also, look at the daylilies of Oscie Whatley. Many lovely yellows there!

I would highly suggest Going Bananas if you can find it. It had 13 scapes on each small clump, with about 20-25 buds each. Now rebloom scapes are coming on, and there are about 6 scapes per small clump, with about 20 buds each. The thing just keeps going and going. No wonder they named it "Going Bananas" - it sure does! The yellow is so clear and bright - you can see it from quite a distance.

cnid's suggestion of SUNDAY MORNING has reminded me that you need to look at the many Harris-Benz intros. Some wonderful yellows there! Many are lemony though....but some might appeal to you.

BANANA PEPPER SPIDER, by Heather Herrington. Tall, "deep yellow."

LIMITED EDITION, a chrome yellow Lambert. Have no idea what branching, bud count and so on are like, but I liked its flower enough to save an image of it.

MISTY MOONLIGHT, a Frank Kropf double. "dark yellow self."

MOLOKAI, a Whatley oldie.

OSTERIZED, by Judy Davisson. Tall, wonderful looking yellow. One of many of her intros that I "need."

I have many images of SPUFs; if you're interested in those, I could check to see whether any meet your criteria.

Here's another one I stumbled over yesterday...
SOLAR MUSIC. 36 inches, very pretty and older 1993.
GOLDEN GOLIATH, one of its offspring, is another true yellow at 38 inches with a 6.5 inch bloom.

I have Mary Todd also. Bright yellow for me, heavy bloomer for about a month, big stock, very sturdy.
