I have a problem... it's about my Thyme..

Hi Everyone - I am coming from the wintersowing forum. I've been there for five years and a couple of years ago I decided to sow some thyme seeds.

They grew well, I planted them out last year and they flourished and this year, they took off and are spreading like crazy.

Here's my problem: I have NO idea what kind of thyme it is

and I have two questions for you herb experts (I like this forum, will be visiting it often...)

1) If I take a picture of this thyme, do they all look alike or could you possibly tell me what kind I have?...

2) I am in Zone 7b NC - so far I've never seen any flowers on my thyme - yet it is healthy, green and spreading - wouldn't there have to be some kind of flower (otherwise - how would I have gotten seeds for them?...) Yet, I see no indication of any flowering.

Hope these questions don't seem too trite - first time with herbs this year and I am loving them - Did dill, basil and thyme - If I get an answer to this, I will take a photo of them tomorrow and see if anyone can identify what I have.

Thanks so much...

Carrie
