I was ready to rip it out and get another tree, but it isn't dead. The pics with the envelope in the background were taken about an hour ago. Here is the trunk pic from a couple days ago, you can barely see the green right below the slight scrape It isn't as noticeble now on the tree. the green is best seen at the bottom of the scrape. I think you've got the magic formula!!- part of that formula might be matching the right plants to the right climate, but regardless this is the most impressive container crop I have ever seen. Out here in Sacramento both of my Bell Pepper plants died this season :( - we recently had 5 days of triple digit weather so that is suspect no1, but I am happy for anyone's feedback since Im new to gardening (my first season). As the picture shows I used a clear plastic bag instead of a black plastic bag. I often see beads of moisture drops under the plastic, could this be breeding harmful mold? And if so how is it any different from using a black trashbag? I used clear because we have a lot of triple digit days here in Sacramento, attached a pic.

I was proud of myself bc the room was done with mostly moderately priced items with some budget pieces mixed in but that all ended with the drapes. They are the most expensive thing in the room. I had never done custom drapes and boy did I have sticker shock. The fabric is really pretty. It's a Schumacher, mendhi. Here is a close up. It has slate blues, green, ochre. And the really large repeat sealed the deal. They are 116" tall. When I joined the board, someone introduced me to Sarah Richardson. That completely changed my approach to decorating. I had never incorporated vintage pieces into my décor before. Plus, she mixes fabrics and patterns so well. I didn't have the guts to be as bold, but I tried! Here are a few of the vintage pieces that really makes it feel homey to me. You have some cool retro stuff, that's for sure. And I totally get trying to make it all work, that used to be me trying to cram a room and a half worth of furniture "finds" into one not-big-enough space. I'm still not quite over it, but I'm a work in progress! A comment and a suggestion... First, the suggestion. Have Mr. Muscle move out one piece, either the hutch or the hoosier. Outside, another room, or whatever. Clear your room of junk or plastic bins or whatever other clutter you wouldn't have out if you were trying to show your house. See what you think. Sometimes, you really have to come to a parting of the ways with furniture. And no matter how cool or how nicely refinished or how rare, a piece that doesn't work for you and ADD something to your home needs to find another home. I had this in my dining room: It was a Santa Barbara California ebay find for $99 maybe 5 years ago. It never fit my style. It stored my dishes but not nearly as well as the prior buffet I sold to make room for this. And it always bothered me on some level to have something that didn't work with anything else in the room. Last month, I put it on Craigslist and sold it the first day for much more money than I paid for it. My dishes that were inside are sitting in a rubbermaid tub on the floor. Don't care. Glad it's gone. Now, the comment.... While sometimes people came for dinner and exclaimed over my antique buffet, the room just didn't work with that piece. No one said, "What a pretty dining room you have!" When you have too much furniture crammed into a small space, even the good pieces or the nice antiques, actually detract from the home.
