'Sparkling' DLs in PA today

Big Cabin Luscious Lips is one of my favorites from Brook at the Lily Auction

Catherine Woodberry is soft looking and lovely. Among hot colors she does not get overlooked.

Brave World never gets overlooked. Tangerine and Rose Red sound like they might not work, but they sure do on this DL.

Fountain Tune is a med. purple.

Enchantingly Beautiful is in a pot and this is her 1st fan. It is a little worst for wear because of the wind & rain but I thought some might like to see her.

Swirling Water - another nice med.-dk. purple.

I finally found my CHINA BRIDE and she is blooming. I have wanted her for several years. The wait was worth it.

WOW...what beauties Jane. Love all those bright ones especially BW...that color combo is stunning! EB reminds me very much of my Pink On Ivory. All of them are just gorgeous with their sparkling raindrops.

Your daylilies certainly are sparkling. Wonderful pictures. I am sure you will really enjoy CHINA BRIDE. Mine has been blooming and she is such a lovely daylily. Brave World sure is a looker, I know I would love that one.

Really, none of them look bothered by the rain at all, just extra shiney. Beautiful, all of them.

Thanks everyone for taking a look at my DLs. Signet - My camera is a Nikon D50 SLR digital. 6.1 million pixels, 18-55 mm plus I have another lens 55-200mm.This camera can do so much that I really don't utilize. I am a point and shoot kind of person, but my DH is the camera buff, and thought this would be a good camera when I gave our daughter my Olympus D40, which was a great point and shoot w/zoom. The amount of pixels is important if you are going to blow up your photos larger than 4 x 6 - 8 x 10. Otherwise, 2-3 million will do just fine. I am still using my Olympus software for 'tweaking' photos because I really like it and it is easy to use. I do not enhance my DL photos, but I try to get them as close to how they look when I see them in the garden, whether it be color shades, sharpness etc. I also downsize my photos to approz. 500 x 500 pixels when finished. It probably would be better for posting if they were more like 400 x 400, but I save the photos to use for greeting cards, etc. and I like the larger size. Jane, So glad you shared the photo of Orange Vols, because I just planted that one this Spring, and am now very excited to see it bloom, hopefully as brilliant as yours! Also planted Castle Pinkney new, this year, and love your photo of that beauty! Unforgettable Fire is awesome! Oh gosh, where to start!? I just planted Dallas Star this Spring and it has bloomed, but not photo-worthy. In fact, I wondered why I wanted it in the first place, it was so un-impressive. But seeing yours gives me hope for next year! Piano Man was on last year's wish list, but I foolishly passed it up - can't imagine why! It just went back on my list, since your shot is so wonderful! Fancy Buttons is one I've wanted for a long time. Sure love your capture of the bloom. Just planted my Susan Weber this Spring, but looks like she will wait until next year to bloom. Hot and humid in Western PA too. I also grow Condilla and it is such a bright and cheerful flower. Everyone who visits comments on the color. I love it. Boy the rain sure didn't put out the fire, did it?

Forsyth Vivacious, Wispy Rays and Big Cabin Luscious Lips are still sizzling. You can still see the steam rising.

I'm glad you got your China Bride. It's been one of my long time favorites.

Enchantingly Beautiful looks as if it may have some of my favorite colors in it. Post it again in the dry.

BCLL one is just simply gorgeous. Yes i like rain drops on plant pics too, i find it adds to the picture.

Wow! They all look so fresh and clean.

As always, you always give us a marvelous show of variety. I love them all, but if I could only choose one, I'd vote for Brave World because of its brave and bold color combination!

Great pics, Jane. I love the colors on Brave World and BCLL -- they both appear to be that cherry red that I really like.

Your daylilies look gorgeous in the rain! We finally got some much needed rain last night too. Glad you were able to get China Bride - she's one of my favorite daylilies too.

Thanks everyone for you nice comments. Today was a work day so I have to see what has survived the showers again today. It is not as hot so it will be pleasant to work in the garden this evening.
