COOL HAND LUKE had lovely lavender looking blooms this morning.

TEDDY BEAR'S PICNIC is nearing the end of its run. It's bloomed for nearly six weeks on scapes with 21 and 24 buds.

ETHEL BUCCOLA always has good looking blooms!

ANTIQUE NOUVEAU, a late bloomer

REMEMBERING ROSE - registered ML but always blooms VL here

SURFIN DUDE, a late bloomer that is bud building. You gotta love that!

RUBY LIPSTICK - the last bloom of the season unless we get some rebloom scapes later

Seedling Black Falcon Ritual X Robes for the Queen on rebloom

Seedling Into the Mystic X Symphony of Praise - rebloom scape is down to a couple of buds. I've been very pleased with the performance of this seedling this year. Now if it would only multiply quickly.

Chris, I will be selling, but not directly out of my garden. I'll dig and divide the clumps that need it in the fall and line them out for spring sale. I have lots of people touring my garden during bloom season, so the sign will also make it easier for them to find me. :) Julie, Anns Talladega is a brighter rose red than mine. Don't know if it has something to do with the soil, temps or what but as I said, mine may look different next bloom season. We'll see. And, not only has it put up instant rebloom scapes, the one huge fan I planted in early March has now increased to 7 fans and is a small clump. How's that for fast? LOL Jan

Nat - Zuzu, short for Zeus, is a male. Columbus is a female. When they were little feral kittens and I couldn't tell their sex, I thought they were both males and called them the striper brothers. Excellent pics Jim! What a variety you have. Though I'm not much of a cactus guy, I've got to admit they look great! Best of luck with the palms also, I'll be interested in how they come through the winter with your various species and protection methods. Especially the more uncommon trachys. I want to see those get big! Great job rehabbing that needle too, it does not look too bad considering it had spear pull. Those needles sure are slow growers, my larger one only put up one spear which is now mostly open, all summer. The suckers grew a few inches though. I have about a 4' washy but I don't think I dare try to put it in the ground here. I just took it indoors from the 3-season porch where it had been since we dipped into the upper 20s in October. Funny, it is really growing now with constant temps and flourescent lighting. It has opened 2 complete fans in a couple weeks already. I'll be very interested to see how yours makes it with your protection method there. I think you are about 1/2 to 3/4 zone warmer than me here in MN. I'm in a favorable micro climate though. I'm just SE of the big city areas, near the MN river valley. In the colder months the weather comes out of the north/west/northwest most of the time. That city heat island effect adds to the help we get from the river valley. It's actually pretty cool to compare to other areas nearby. I honestly believe I'm at least a solid zone 5 here! I've got a 4 1/2+ foot BOP also which is potted and still in the 3-season porch. The thing is actually still pretty happy. I didn't realize they were that hardy! It has seen temps in the mid 30s several times. I only paid $9.99 for it at Sam's Club last spring, another of those impulse buys... Best of luck, and keep us posted as to how everything goes.

Kay - Colorado Moon Fire is a little workhorse. It always jkeeps putting up more scapes here too, usually blooming to the end of July or early August. Mantis - Lord of the Storm's real name is Lord of the Wind. I think I was out in sun for too many hours today. :) The windswept look is the reason I bought it. That cultivar always has a lot of movement.

I think that's my favorite pic of Cool Hand Luke I've seen so far because of that clear lavender color. Surfin Dude looks nice and vibrant, and I love your seedling. It looks like you've had decent bud count on that one. How old is it?

Dani - Thanks for you comment on the last seedling. It's one of my best performers.

Avedon and Jean - The Black Falcon Ritual seedling has great color, but the flower is a bit smaller than I would like it to be with that triangular shape. I've crossed to several large purple UFs.

Chris - The color on Cool Hand Luke is definitely a blend like so many of Curt's creations. It looks lavender after cool nights here, so that might be how it would look the majority of the time in your climate. When you refer to my seedling, I'm not sure which one you mean since I have two on this thread. The Into the Mystic seedling I've posted many photos of since it had so many buds and then rebloomed. It's a three-year-old seedling with a 5.5 inch bloom. The best scape had 5-way branching and 26 buds. The Black Falcon Ritual seedling has a 5.5 inch flower with 3-4 way branching. It has 11-13 buds per scape. I don't see it as an introduction, but I'm using it as bridge plant.

I love the picture of Cool Hand Luke, I've always liked that one. Do I detect a bit of pinching in the throat? Ruby Lipstick is always a winner and your Black Falcon Ritual X Robes for the Queen seedling is a super color. Marg

Cool Hand Luke is very nice, I also like the always looking good Ethel Buccola and Ruby Lipstick. Both seedlings are pretty but I prefer the BFR one
