Reblooming in FL - Orange ya glad to see it pics

Keeping with the orange theme...the Blackberry Lilies have been blooming -

And I wanted to share this pic of a woodpecker enjoying some bread in a suet feeder. I used to put out birdseed, but got tired of all the weeds underneath the feeders. So I've been using the suet feeders year round and filling them with stale bread and old fruit that would otherwise be thrown out.

Kathy, I love JT Davis. Yep, I am happy for rebloom. I took a pic of Magnificent Hummingbird today on rebloom for the first time since I bought it several years ago.. I can't keep B.Lilies either a much as I love them. I think the voles really like them. The woodpecker looks as though he is enjoying himself....Ellie

Such pretty pics! I love how the orangey background surrounds J.T. Davis....BEAUTIFUL! J.T. Davis is wonderful to breed with too, I haven't seen a baby disappoint me yet. I love your idea with the stale bread and fruit, from now on I'm going to put it in my suet feeder....GREAT IDEA!

Hey, hot orange on this hot day LOL! I have always though Kwanzo is pretty but I wouldn't have it (spreads) in my small yard. Glad to see Jambalaya doing well, it is a pretty flower.

Avedon - you have sharp eyes...that is Black and Blue that I moved this spring. I hope it will like this new location better next year, after it establishes new roots. I needed some cool colors in this very hot colored bed. Julia, I grow a lot of crinums. They are large and require a lot of space, but they are soooo easy...even more so than daylilies. And they like it hot and humid - many plants don't - so they are coming into their prime time now. Rita, I've enjoyed the double zinnias this year, but I'm looking for new ideas for next year. I haven't forgotten your California poppies. Debra, Moonlight Sail has been impressive this first year. I think these rebloom flowers are much prettier than the first flush. Kathy

Very nice! My Tangerine Horses has never rebloomed for me here in NJ. Maybe this will be the year since it's been so hot.

Great shot of the woodpecker. He looks like he is enjoying his snacks. I just love your bloom pictures with the hot colored coneflowers in the backround. My favorite is TANGERINE HORSES as the color is just lucious.

I love the daylilies, but I really love the way you have them sited with the orange flowers around. The wood pecker picture is a winner. WEhat a good idea!

Ellie, I like J.T. Davis, too. In fact, I've been so impressed with it that I ordered some more for Fall delivery.

Nancy, J.T. Davis is new this year, so I didn't hybridize with it. But next year, I certainly plan to use it.

Rita, The zinnias and the black-eyed susans laugh at the summer heat...thank goodness. Otherwise there wouldn't be much color in my garden right now. The daylilies are few and far between.

Kay, Between the squirrels, the woodpeckers, the cardinals and the blue jays, there isn't much left for the little birds. But other than than, the suet feeders have worked out well.

Kathy, I always LOVE your photos. The orange in all the pics is wonderful, especially combined with the yellow. My favorite is the woodpecker photo. I never thought to use bread in a suet feeder -- great idea!

I like JT Davis, too,and the pretty flowers around it. What a great idea with the stale bread..The woodpecker is injoying his self.He looks like he has too much lodged in his throat and trying to swollow it down,:)

My favorite photo is the woodpecker. He is so large and colorful! We have smaller woodpeckers with just a little bit on red on the top of the heads at our suet feeders. All the daylilies are wonderful and look so great with the zinnias and black-eyed Susans.

Chris, Those little profusion orange zinnias are my favorite annual. I also grow them in white and pink. They bloom right up until frost and are so easy to start from seed. Glad you enjoyed the pics.
Jean, I don't think anything could get lodged in that woodpeckers throat...he has a voracious appetite and acts like he owns my backyard.

Debra, Our woodpeckers are a noisy lot and object quite loudly when I interrupt their feeding with my photography. They make me laugh with their antics.
Renee, Thank you! But my yard is looking a little tired in this heat. We need about a weeks worth of rain to perk everything back up.
