Limited camera time today.Surprising how many are still putting out the blooms here. I see alot of "bee" pods in the garden. Time to snap those babies off as I'm not wanting to do any seeds this year.

They are all three real beauties. I sure do think WORTH IT ALL is so beautiful. It is my favorite based on pretty blooms today. Love DOWN HOME too with that great color.

Worth It All really shaped up for its finale. I wish mine had looked that good for even one day. I like Down Home's deep, rich color too.

Your twp replaces trees in people's yards? That's very generous of them/ I was out there this afternoon enjoying my KBG. The reason I would kill it is because it has bermuda mixed in. Now that I know KBG grows here I figure I will do it right and kill the bermuda. I may do rye in the back yard. I think I may do fine fescue on one side of the back yard and PR/KBG and tttf on the other and see what happens. I really do need to get rid if this awful bermuda once and for all though.

Hmmm...your P.p 'Aurea' looks just like my 'Walnut Glen'. I was questioning wheather mine was 'Walnut Glen' since it has such a prominent yellow glow like your 'Aurea'. I have to tell you I'm a sucker for Picea glauca 'Pendula'. Your specimens look great in the photos. What is the little blue one behind 'Schoodic'?

Hi everyone. Thank you for looking and commenting. I love the trees, but they would destroy our house if they were uprooted in a storm...and you know how these storms are here. The house is a decent size, 2000 sq ft, but the trees really dwarf it and the one nearest to the house hangs all over the roof. We just have to find someone who has the courage to tackle these big trees. The Hot Lips salvia is three years old, and the Navajo salvia on the right is about 10 years old. Behind the Hot Lips is a huge clump of Black and Blue Salvia, and I have a couple of others in the butterfly garden. They are all blooming right now. Ellie, weather is always a question in regard to blooms, isn't it? Judy, Leave a few pictures of big trees that have fallen on houses around...that might encourage the removal. Jean, I love the look of Magnolias, but they are messy. Celeste, the daylily blooms actually opened today, and the salvia, Lantana. and zinnias are blooming away, but the roses are what I am enjoying. They are happy because it is cooler. Linda, I am enjoying the retirement. We do have a row of mainly big oaks on the back of the property that we intend to leave. Rita, I had thought you had gotten Hot Lips, but I guess that was last year. Once something gets started here, you have to work to kill it, and that isn't always a good thing as you can imagine. kay

Lily, in 2015, he developed hyper-thyroid. He was losing weight, yet ate all the time, and also drank more water. I suspected the thyroid or diabetes. He was on medication and strict blood-work monitoring to check his T levels. Did you know that cats hoarking fur-balls isn't normal? I thought it was. That can be attributed to IBD (irritable bowel disease). He got that as well. Prednisone helped with that. I also gave him slippery elm bark that I mixed into a syrup which soothes their intestines. A lot of animals use this to help with digestive issues. The past few weeks, he drank too much water and peed it all out. Nothing I gave him, he had any desire to eat. He'd eat just morsels of food. I was giving him food several times/day and it was very inconvenient, but just to get him to eat enough. Everything from raw, $3 tins of cat food to kitty-crack (Fancy Feast). I didn't care what he ate, as long as he ate something. Often he'd turn his nose up at it, and I had several opened tins of food in the frig. He developed Stage 2 kidney disease a couple of months ago. Age is a bitch, for pets and humans alike.

Would you summarize again your experience with Worth It All? It certainly looks terrific in these photos. Since you made suggestions for photographing on Nat's post, would you tell us what camera and settings you use. Your photos have great clarity.

mantis: Tomorrow I plan to go and count the number of fans, scapes and budcount. I love the bloom so it isn't going anywhere even if it gave me heartburn this year.

We have 2 cameras. My husband has a Canon Rebel XT with all the bells and whistle plus the telephoto lens that has IS. I just use the dial that points to the flower icon with auto focus, adjust the telephoto lens to the closeup I want, focus and shoot. I'm not really that technical with changing settings with allowing more or less light or changing the speeds. My camera is a Canon SD800 IS which is the nice handy small size point and shoot. Oh yeah, it has all these things you can do to change settings and speed and what not but I like to use auto function. That is one I could actually do the white card/paper trick and not get off balance. I switch between the cameras but mainly use the larger Canon. I like the distance of the telephoto lens so you don't have to step into the garden beds to snap a photo. The white card trick was told to me my a long time member of the forum Jan (tweetype). I do miss her posts on the forum.
Probably more than everyone needs to know LOL.

WOW!!! WORTH IT ALL is just gorgeous, beautiful bloom.Its my favorite here.DOWN HOME is mighty pretty too....Gee,I hate to see every ones daylilies quit blooming.I so injoy all the pictures every day.

I just hate to see them go!! WIA is a real beauty.. It's new to me so I'll see how mine does next year! I got an e-mail from Jan yesterday and she is doing fine but misses her garden. A little homesick she said! Ellie

Ellie: Glad to hear Jan is fine. I miss her bloom and garden pics. She has such a lovely, big garden with all the different areas where she planted and I remember the pond too.
Hopefully she'll come back and post again.

Beautiful photos, Julia. We all love the blooms on Worth it All (when she's in the mood to look pretty). I've decided to give mine one more year to shape up, but mine is more a question of height and bud count, rather than bad blooms.

Down Home is also a beauty -- reminds me of the unusual color of Moldovan's Castle Camelot.
