Normal. I cut it back in late fall to the ground, and it comes back fresh every spring.

I've had a few reports off the forum that Blood Brothers has indeed arrived in nurseries in Ontario anyway. That's a beginning! And now I really am impatient for spring and a hope the grasses will grow like weeds. Sometimes, if it's not too cold, the Pennisetums start showing new green shoots at end of January.
