wish we had some rain, I have just spent two days planting and dividing existing plants and really need to water them. Just a couple of hours of light rain would be fine!

I didn't shut it down today after all. I took out the dead hyacinth and some lily leaves but the water temp is registering 45F. The fish are still too active to catch! I don't know what other people do who bring their fish in but I bring pond water and fish in at the same time. That way the temps are the same. It does mean I have to monitor the ammonia carefully and I do a water change within a week. I will pull the bottom drain tomorrow and run the pond off the skimmer. Hardin I'd love your climate. I hate winter! At least in your climate you can leave your fish out all winter. The 2 ft thick ice we get here is not great for fish ponds. Patti

We got some rain here last night, and lightening hit the transformer up the street. We were afraid it had zapped our vintage fridge, dryer and air conditioning but luckily they are all on the NEW circuits which are protected, and were just fussing! It was a hot and humid wait but we're back on track. After all that, we just got a 1/4" rain last night but it still was very welcome! Hopefully we'll get some more the next few days.

Great to hear about all the showings. We got a call from our realtor's office today and our realtor is showing our house tomorrow. It hasn't been shown in about three weeks, so we are hopeful. In my dreams, they love the house, want to move in by Christmas, so they close with cash on Friday! A girl can dream, can't she? We are just passing a year of double house payments.

So happy for the gardeners who are getting rain. I heard on the news the other day that we are not getting either El Nino or La Nina this year as previously thought. After checking the temperature in the Pacific Ocean, the weather forecasters (I want to call them the weathermongers, with some affection) have declared it will be La Nada, meaning nothing, no ocean effect. I am really not making this up.

OK, now is it raining?!

Cactus freak, yes I am. And it appeared to be just a little tiny green spot on the radar and it didn't last that long. I looked at the radar after I posted but I assumed a broader area was getting rain.

It's raining today in downtown Atlanta. Just a nice little rain. My cat has been nutty these last 3 weeks. Literally INSANE and I couldn't figure out what was wrong.
Today she happily went out and played in the garden in the pouring rain. She was so HAPPY!

All the creatures seemed to notice we needed some!

I got mine. It looks like it is done now and the rain gauge shows .7 inches. I am grateful.
